Bridal Salons?

I'm just getting started shopping for a dress and was wondering if anyone had recs of shops they had a good experience with (and were on the affordable end).

 I've been to Weddings 826 so far and did find a gown I really like, but want to try some more options.  Some of shops like Shelly's or Crystal Bride are so far from the city and I want to avoid wasting a trip....

    From a cost standpoint; since taxes are less in the 'burbs, it may be worth going to check out!

    I got mine at La Joli Mode in Oak Lawn, may not be too far if you're on the south side.

    My least favorite part about dress shopping was the frequent trips to the burbs...

    I looked at Macy's and Weddings 826 in the city.  I ended up buying my gown at Eva's in Tinley Park, which had a great selection for a wide range of budgets. Mainly, I bought there because they had a lot of Allure dresses, which was the brand I liked and ended up buying.  I also visited A L'Amour in Barrington (wouldn't recommend) and Bella Bridal in St. Charles (good).

    Note: the Eva's in Tinley Park is different from the other "Eva's"...huge source of confusion, but I confirmed with the BBB reports that this was the case.
