Cantigny vs. Danada House

Help! Thoughts???
I love them both, cantigny seems a tad cheaper, but you must use their on-site caterer? I am going to look at Danada Tuesday (and hopefully to book a date) but want to hear what you ladies have to say. I also found a caterer i love for Danada who is willing to work with my budget for a cocktail hour reception....
Have you been to a wedding at either?

Danada also has a "must use" list of caterers.  So if your caterer is not on that list, then I believe Danada will not allow.  I'm going to a wedding in July at Danada.  On a sadder note, I did go to a memorial service for a friend there.  It was a beautiful day and the service was held outdoors.

I would have liked Danada for our wedding & reception.  We would have used the house part since we were having a small wedding, but the rental on a Friday or Saturday was prohibitive.

I hang out at Danada Equestrian Center alot since I moved to Wheaton.

I am getting married at Cantigny but I wish I had know about Danada house before booking because I would have booked there. However, the only reason for that is one of their caterers has a kosher kitchen, which means we could have had a kosher wedding.

I do think Cantigny's ceremony sites and reception hall is nicer. The only thing I like better about Danada House is that they have a kosher caterer.

I am having my wedding at Danada House in a few weeks. I chose Danada over Cantigny for a few reasons:

Choosing a caterer- they do have a PREFERRED list of caterers but i have heard of some people bringing in different ones, just state your case.

Bringing your own cake baker- you can use the one you use as your caterer or not

Rentals-you dont have to go through any one particular place

Space-great outdoor area for the cocktail hour/ late night dancing outside on deck area. you can fit up to 250 people without using the dance floor. cantigny can't fit that many people without putting the dance floor in a different room

the people at danada have been extremely helpful. you are allowed to be at the venue as a bridal party the full time of the rental (4pm-1am for me) and be upstairs getting ready or freshening up or taking photos on the grounds, where as other places its only the time allotted for hte actual event (6pm-12am)

Agrahovec, you are making me sad that I didn't find out about Danada House before booking Cantigny.

OP, thus far I have been very happy with Cantigny. The coordinators are very easy to work with. The cake person retired recently and I am a little suspicious of their new cake baker (there are several terrible reviews online). However, I love that they already have everything there so I don't have to worry about rentals. I had a friend who had his reception at the Red Oak room and he had only positive things to say about it.

Danada House is AMAZING!  Had a really great time here when I went to a friends wedding last year!
