R.E.M. vs Studio 272

Has anyone used/are using either of the 2 for video? A few weeks ago we thought that we had it narrowed down to who we wanted for video but that fell through.

After going through the research process again, we've narrowed it down to these two. But I did want to check in with all of you Chicago Knotties to see if anyone has had any experience with either company.

TIA!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding that used Joel from Studio 272.  Joel was very professional.  The bride didn't bring a "nice" hanger for her wedding dress to be filmed, so Joel went out of his way to get a hanger for the shoot.  The wedding was this past August so we have yet to see the film.  I heard that weddings are pretty new to him though.  He was in the business of documentaries, I think.

Thanks for the insight trambam! That's definitely a plus that he went out of his way to add that touch for the shoot. Now this makes my decision harder! :)

I used REM for my wedding. They are great. I got the first draft of the video a couple weeks ago and the final one is on it's way. He said he'd post the highlight on Vimeo so as soon as it's out there I'll share the link with this board. They are very professional and I like the quality work they did. I also liked that they offer things separate from packages and he does offer all the raw footage if you'd like it (for a cost of course). He also works with the DJ (depending on your DJ) to tap into their soundboard for the ceremony and toasts so the sound is super clear and not muffled in any way. I don't think I can describe it much better if you have any other questions please let me know and as soon as it's up I'll start a new thread with the link to our highlight. Hope that helps!
