This is a PSA.
Please beware of Jeff Manimbo Event Cinematography.
He was dba: Shoot the Bride Films. It looks like this company is out of business.
Jeff is not an honest businessman, I highly recommend you DONT use his services for videography. Do a search here on Shoot the Bride Fims. or STB.
You can google for the reviews on yelp, read the filtererd too! and weddingwire.com.
Here's the cliff note version:
He was discovered by a bride here when he had just started his business. His name became very popular here on theknot.com and he was hired by scores of couples (25 plus had problems) to shoot their 2010 weddings because his rates were initially very low and he was showing a lot of talent in the beginning. It turned out to be a crap shoot as to what kind of quality you actually recieved, that is IF you got your video.
After each wedding he shot, he cashed the check and he basically went MIA, not communicating at all with brides or delivering their videos. He lied to many saying they were in the mail etc or he would deliver by a certain date and it would not happen. He's still doing this. Personally I got my videos 5 months after the wedding and that was record time for him. Our contract stated 4-6 weeks. My videos were of fair quality.
Many brides are a year or more out from their weddings and this is what they got for their money, (many paid top dollar, by the time he became popular he raised the pricing)....
1. nothing
2. raw unedited video
3. short and long form videos that were of poor quality
4. short and long form videos that were of fair quality
5. Short film only
6. Long film only
BUT NO ONE GOT ANYTHING WITHOUT MONTHS OF UNANSWERED PHONE CALLS, EMAILS, FB MESSAGES, TEXTING, LAWSUITS, SOMETIMES CRYING AND BEGGING.
Best of luck in your planning and hoping you all have great vendors who care about customer service. Do your homework before hiring anyone that doesn't have a solid reputation.
