I'm getting married in May of next year, and I'm not really sure when to send out our save-the-dates. I don't want to send them out around the holiday season because I'm afraid they'll get lost in the shuffle of people's Christmas cards, etc... I feel like waiting until January is kind of late, because I want to make sure that those invited have plenty of notice. Is sending save-the-dates next month way too early? If so, when do you recommend I send them, and how long after should we send the formal invite?
Re: Save-the-Dates and Invitations..
Everywhere I looked said to send the invitations out 6-8 wks before the wedding...we send our out 10 wks before and asked for the responses back 3 wks before, that worked out well for us! Good luck!
For the formal invites, we are sending out 8 weeks before the wedding date.
Our invites are going in the mail 10 weeks before with a RSVP date of 4 weeks before. That way we have plenty of time to track down stragglers and do our seating arrangement.
