Looking for photog with style like this

Hello Knotties! Believe it or not, just days before we planned to email this photographer about shooting our wedding, her prices went way up - suddenly out of our price range! So, I'm hoping for a little help. Do any of you guys have a suggestion for a Chicago/suburbs photographer with a similar style?

Admittedly, we're budget-conscious. Ideally, we wanted to keep our photography budget around a max of $1500, so we're happy to accept someone who's only semi-professional. Our wedding is a little less than a year away, so we have some time to find another photographer, but I'm kind of bummed.

The photographer that I feel has the most similar style is actually from Michigan. She said she will be spending time in Chicago this winter so maybe you can see if she will be in the Chicago area around your wedding date?

Her style is similar, I also am pretty sure that she is willing to negotiate price.


As a side note, did you ask the photographer you wanted if she would be willing to work with your budget? The photographers we are using recently increased their price and I was caught off guard by it. I told them that I REALLY wanted to use them but they were out of my budget, so I gave her my budget and what I wanted (Day of, enagement pics and album) and asked if they would be willing to do it and they agreed to. When it is a personally owned business sometimes they are willing to work with you. Good luck!

But of course there is always room to negotiate, and your story gave me a little bit of hope! Maybe I'll approach her, just in case...

You should ask her if she can make an exception for you. It can't hurt. Is your wedding date during a popular time of year?
