tasting question.

The wedding coordinator for my reception emailed me today saying the tasting is entree only. I'm a little surprised because she told me to pick two vegetables & two starches. Is it normal to try only the entrees?

I think it's a little strange. We get to taste everything including apps. I do think they limit us to trying 3 entrees though (out of 5)

I'm going to see if I can try the side dishes I would hate to have amazing entrees and bland or gross side dishes.

We also get to try any of the items we are thinking of having, including sides and appetizers.

we haven't scheduled our tasting yet but we will be trying appetizers, salads, and the full plates of entrees. i think if perhaps the sides/starches are the same with each entree it wouldn't be necessary to try them...however, with our entrees, the sides paired with each entree are very different, which is why we will be trying the whole thing. as others said, i bet it just depends on who you are working with and what options they have.

We were only able to taste appetizers and entrees, and we did it before we booked.  So we brought our families and each ordered something different and passed our plates around so we could try a little bit of everything.  It worked out well for us.  And the food was so good we booked on the spot.
