rehearsal dinner spot - west suburbs - estimated costs?

Hi there - looking for a rehearsal dinner spot in the west burbs - no idea where yet or what kind of place we want to go to. We're estimating 19 people at 
RD. Where did you have/are you planning your RD in the west burbs? How much did you/do you estimate you will spend per person? What type of place did you/are you having it? How fancy/casual? I'd prefer to keep it reasonable and not do anything too fancy for this. Right now I've budged $30/person including tip. Is that high? Low? About right?  I was figuring if everyone has a drink or two at $7 a drink, that's $14/person right there - add another $10 for food and another $5 for gratuity and you're at about $30. Thanks!

I think you should be OK with $30/person, depending on what kind of place you want to have the RD at. We are doing it at Lou Malnati's in downtown Naperville in their party room. For a basic pizza buffet (no pasta or other food), I think it's about $9/person w/o alcohol and $15/person including alcohol. Of course, it's more with additional food options - we haven't chosen the final menu yet.

But a decently priced RD can be done!

We are having ours at Moretties in Mt. Prospect in their upstairs private room. 34 ppl and we budgeted for $1500 even though we know it will be less. We are having 5 appetizers, unlimited 1-topping pizzas, garlic bread, pasta, salad and a cookie/brownie tray. All non-alcohol beverages and we are doing alcohol based on consumption for 3-4 hrs.
