Chicago West Suburb Venue Large Enough for 350 guests-cathedral or high ceiling

Hi all!  I have posted before about a Rustic/Vintage venue but have realized after doing some searching that I am really just searching for a venue with high or "cathedral" ceilings.  I basically just don't want a typical banquet hall.  The problem I am having, however, is that we don't fit anywhere like that with such a big wedding!  I loved the Katherine Legge Lodge, love the pavillion at Klein Creek Farm, love places like cog hill or womens club of Evanston but we just don't fit! We also loved the tent at Eagle Wood in Itasca but our good friends just got married there. :/
Anyone have any ideas for weddings with 350 guests that aren't your typical banquet hall??

  • In Downers Grove Espanlande (Sara Lee Bldg) not very rustic however floor to ceiling windows and the food is amazing!!!!! Also, Bristol Court (Wheeling/Glenview), Victorian in the Park......very unique, awesome outdoor patio, floor to ceiling windows and awesome food. All will 350
  • I dont know hwo many many it fits, but try Independence Grove...Very rusti and beautiful
  • Thank you both!  We have looked into all of those places.  Independence Grove won't fit us...at least not in the building. Downers Grove Espanlande is beautiful but they were doing so much constuction with all these buildings around it we got a little nervous. I loved Victoria in the park but my fiance didnt...
Our top choice right now is Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale.  Have you guys heard of it?
  • Yes, I have heard but I have never been to a wedding there so I cant really say. What about European Crystal, when I went and looked at it a couple years ago it is beautiful...but not rustic. Also the Riolto Theater is very nice. Have you looked into either of the zoo's?

<div>We have friends that held their wedding at Indian Lakes.  They were very happy with everything.  The pictures they took on the grounds were beautiful.  </div>
  • HI - My fiance and I just booked our venue and it is unique and NOT a banquet hall.  It is the Starline Gallery in Harvard, IL.  Fits 500 and you can do almost whatever you want.  Plus it is yours for 3 days!  May not be what you are looking for but thought I would let you know.  We live in the city, but this was a perfect location and logistically "even" for everyone:)  Good luck!

  • The new Marriott hotel in Naperville can seat over 700 for a ceremony and over 400 for dinner with high ceilings - like 18 or 20'.
