Are you getting an airbrush tan for your wedding?

My makeup artist told me not to because it's drying to the skin.

Any thoughts?

I will be.  I've gotten many a spray tan--I've never noticed my skin to be any dryer afterward.  Though I've always gone in a booth and have never had it applied to me.

I'm debating. I got an airbrush tan where a person sprayed me once. The color was pretty intense on day one, but eventually it was nice. I"m just worried it will rub off on my dress...

I will be too....Also have gotten a bazillion spray tans before big events in the past, and have never had a dry skin problem.

I'm a freak about exfoliation & moisturizer though, and I think most women don't exfoliate enough.

Exfoliation is a HUGE deal with spray tans.  This woman I used to go to for airbrush tanning told me to take a plastic baggie full of sugar into the shower and scrub the crap out of my skin a day or 2 before a spray tan, and follow with a heavy moisturizer.  I've never had a bad spray tan.

This. The woman that I had told me the same thing. I get nervous that if exfoliate my skin will get too red :(

I'm planning on laying out to try to get a natural tan, but if I am still pasty I will be getting a tan. You can always moisturize, so don't worry about dry skin. I would have a professional airbrush you and not a booth just because you want them mixing the color for you and making sure it is even for such a huge day!!!! I am also worried about it rubbing off on the dress, but I am thinking as long as you get the tan at least 3 days prior, it will be fine. Also, if you put moisturizer on I think it will deter rubbing.

I just tried it out for the first time last weekend.  My face seemed really tan the first day, but the next day it was much better.  I think I'll try it a couple more times before the wedding gets closer to decide if I'll do it before the wedding.

It didn't seem that anything would rub off on my clothes, especially the next day.

I recommend doing an evening appointment....just go home after and veg, and use old sheets.  shower the next day, and you will look much better.  It wont rub off on your dress unless you do it the day before....which you shouldn't anyway!

I did mine three whole days before the wedding. I had a trial two months earlier, and decided that by day three I liked the color the best. I hate tanning beds, what a horrible invention, but I highly suggest the airbrush tan. Mystic tan would have never cut it BTW, you gotta have someone do it for you.

Great info.  Any rec. of who or where to get airbrush tanning (not the spray booth)? TIA

I recommend Jenn -- Golden Girl Chicago:

She will come to you, or has two locations where she works out of.
