Bakery?

Hi Everyone,

We are looking for a good bakery suggestions. We are looking for a baker that does tradtional wedding cakes, we do not like the modern one's that you see so often now. I am thinking something along the lines of some like the Cake Boss? Something with lots of detail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!!

You should look at The Baking Institute. It's in Northbrook but they deliver to weddings all over the Chicago area. http://www.bakinginstitute.com/

I loved their cakes but ended up being a little too pricey for me, and I booked my cake at Jarosch Bakery instead. However, I did like them and they have a nice portfolio of cool cakes so you might like it!

We are using Jarosch bakery.  All of our family cakes come from there.  My 1st birthday cake came from there.  they are great.  they are located in Elk Grove Village.  We checkout the Baking Institute but the price was better at Jarosch and we know that we are getting good quality.  My family has used them for 40 years.  hope this helps.

DO NOT use the Baking Institute. They messed up my cake. It was the right flavor but wrong design and did not include the extras I paid for. I've since gotten a refund but it is very disappointing that my cake was one of the first things I saw walking into my reception and it was wrong. Still makes me angry almost 2 months later.

I will be using Dinkel's in Chicago - they've been around for decades and are very reliable and tasty.  They do traditional cakes.
