Rehearsal Dinner Ideas

My fiance and I are starting to plan our rehearsal dinner.  We are huge baseball fans (Chicago Cubs) and are not doing anything baseball/Cubs on the actual wedding day because we are keeping that formal.   However, we would like to incorporate this into our rehearsal dinner. 

The church is in Lemont so looking for suggestions on restaurants within the area for the rehearsal.  And...also looking for any ideas you may have to incorporate our love for baseball and Cubs into it.   Thanks!!!

We are currently looking into Harry Caray's in Lombard -- they have a ballpark buffet (chili, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips).  We want something more casual but is this way too casual?    What other ideas are out there???

I think Harry Caray's is a perfect idea for Cubs fans! And really, you're giving them a way formal dinner the next night. Nothing wrong with kicking back and keeping it simple for RD. I think it'd be fun!

We're going the casual route, too. Our church is also in Lemont so we'll be doing Home Run Inn in Darien.

I think that's totally fine for a rehersal dinner. That Harry Carray's is really nice--we almost had our reception at the Westin hotel which the restaurant is attached to.

You can do a regular dinner at Harry Carry's. I am not sure if the ballpark buffet is too casual or not.

@ Eener...what church in Lemont are you getting married?   We are getting married at St. Alphonsus in August.   Where is your reception?      IF we go the pizza route for RD, we were thinking Home Run Inn in Darien as well.

We're getting married at Ss Cyril & Methodius, right by St Alphonsus! We're September 3rd.  The reception is going to be at the new Crystal Grand in Lemont on Archer. They just opened in June and they still have new business pricing - thank goodness. :)

Where is your reception?? Are you planning on any outdoor pics in the area? I have no ideas of where to go.

We looked into St. Cyril but Father Larry said the church will be under construction June thru September.   I went to school in Lemont and always liked St. Alphonsus and St. Cyril so I knew it was one of those two.  My fiance and I now belong to St. Alphonsus obviously. :-)  
I'll have to look up the Crystal Grand -- didn't know something new opened.  Very cool.     Our reception is at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.  We are just doing pictures at the golf club b/c it's so pretty there.
