How early did you start looking at bridesmaid dresses?  When did you have the girls order them?

my wedding is in october and we ordered ours at the beginning of June and the store that was cutting it close, they'll get here about a month before the wedding.... i would shop for them at least 6 months out from your date...

We started looking about 8 months out and the girls ordered them 6 months out. They took about 2.5 months to come in. I ordered them from NetBride.com and had a great experience. 

But you might as well get it done early since it involves other people's time and finances.

We started looking beginning of March for our September wedding and all of the girls had their dresses ordered by mid April at latest...everyone had their dress by mid May.  They were from David's Bridal.

My wedding was in May and I ordered January 2nd from HOB online...it came in mid April, but I definitely was cutting it CLOSE!

I started looking in January for my September wedding. I wanted the girls to order them 5 months (April) ahead, but some of them didn't get it done til maybe June. I think we're cutting it close though!

Our wedding is at the end of November and the MOH just ordered hers this weekend from David's Bridal. I still have 1 bridesmaid and the flower girl that need to get in to order theirs but I'm hoping they will get that done within this month.  

I think David's Bridal seems to be a bit quicker than bridal boutiques.  That's just my opinion.

For our January wedding we ordered the dresses on June 12 (same day as we started looking) The first dress arrived on Monday!

For our July wedding we ordered our dresses end of January.  They were in by April.

FYI, I heard horror stories about HOB wedding and bridesmaid dresses taking forever to come in....so if you are thinking of ordering there, plan way ahead!

I got mine from Ariadress.com, they took about 6 weeks to arrive.

Two of my BM ordered their dresses from David's Bridal on June 26 and she told me they got an e-mail last night that the dresses are already in!!!

Are you girls doing all the same color for bridesmaids dresses?  I saw a dress that I'm thinking about doing it in two colors.  If I did two colors, should I have 2 colors for the groomsmens ties and vests or would look better if I just the groomsmen with black ties and black vests?  I haven't decided for sure regarding the two different colors bridesmaids dresses but tossing around the idea.  The dresses would all be the same style and length just a different color.

We ordered in January for an August wedding. We ended up using David's Bridal because it was really complicated to get everyone together and they all live in different states. We just decided to do black dresses in a specific fabric, and they got to choose the style. If my BM were easier to work with, I would have ordered from JCrew during a sale.
