Wedding DJ

Hi all,
I'm looking for a DJ for my wedding in the Chicago suburbs. I don't want YMCA, rock lobster , nor the chicken dance and I want it light on the club/house music. That being said, someone who has a positive attitute, not to schticky, and knows how to mix the great danceables from the 70's to today would be really appreciated.
Does anyone know someone who fits the bill?
Thanks,
Alison

You absolutely need to check out Toast and Jam.  That's exactly what we didn't want and the minute we met with Emily Augustin (one of their many fabulous djs), we knew she understood what we wanted for our reception. We didn't have any of the cliche wedding music and we had people on the dance floor all night long!  We had friends of ours on the dance floor, that I've never seen dance before!  I cannot say enough good things about them!  We've had nothing but compliments on that songs/type of music that she played.  Good luck to you!  :)

I highly recommend Roberto Monastero (Monastero Entertainment). He was the DJ for two family weddings and kept the dance floor packed all night. Everyone loved him and were excited to hear he would be the DJ at my wedding as well! Having a great DJ was our top priority so Roberto was the very first vendor we booked. He avoids corny music and will tailor the music to your crowd. Another thing I like is that his company's webpage has an online planner where you can submit wedding party info, special songs, etc. His company also does lighting and photobooths if you are interested in either of those.

John @ Fantastic DJs ( http://www.fantasticdjs.com/ ) was awesome! He did both my sisters and my wedding - plus 3 of my sister's friends weddings. Each time the dance floor was packed. He let us have as much say as we wanted in music (i was a no coordinated daance song kind of person, no chicken dance, YMCA, eletric slide, etc)  Check him out, they're great!

We used Tyler from Cage and Aquarium. He was AMAZING. The dance floor was packed all night long. People were actually chanting "ONE MORE SONG!" at the end of the night. He was honestly one of my favorite vendors.

Definitely check out Jorge at Creative Sounds Chicago. Really professional and has amazing prices! www.creativesoundschicago.com
Also, my girl who's getting married next year went to the last  Chicago Bridal Expo and got his info, I think he has a special going if booked in Nov. Hope this helps.
