budget honeymoon

Does anyone have any ideas on a place to go on a honeymoon in may of next year that is driving distance and resonable?? I live in the south suburbs of chicago.

    Door County is always beautiful.  You could rent a house or a cabin on the lake.  It won't be super warm and you might not want to wade out into the water, but its a very pretty area.  Charlevoix, Michigan is also a very pretty area. Again, its further north and could potentially  not be super warm yet.  Another thought (not local) would be to fly somewhere cheap.  My fiance and I flew Southwest to Tampa a few summers ago and rented an awesome condo in Clearwater Beach, FL that was literally half a block from the beach.  I've used http://www.vacationrentals.com/ twice now (Clearwater and Charlevoix) and have had great experiences both times.  Its nice to be able to cook breakfast and lunch if you want to and go out for dinner too.    It was off season for the area, so we got a great deal on the condo and the airfare.  Good luck!
