Hi all

We are in the process of finding a great DJ for our wedding in Sept. What do I need to look in a DJ or entertainment company? Also if you have or know great djs let me know.

Our budget is 1,400 max for lighting and dj.

    The DJ we are using is Tim from Answer Back Entertainment. He has a great light show, uplighting and sound system. Their packages run from aroun $800 to $1,200.
    His website is www.abdjs.com Tim is a really nice guy and a very good DJ. We seen him at a freinds wedding and really liked him.

    We're using Toast and Jam--Kate and Rachel are our DJs. They are under $1300 for 6 hours of service.

    What you should look for in any vendor is first and formost excellent customer service. You are spending a lot of money on your wedding and their are many choices. If you don't get good service, such as timely call backs and communication then don't go with them. I judged all my vendors by this CS scale.

    I loved this company and described the reasons in the DJ post below this one.

    Great CS, great pricing, great service on the wedding day. They are in your price range and offer all that you need.

    I would say 95% of the companies have great equipment and back ups. It's the customer service that will save you headaches in the end of the planning.

    Second Toast and Jam!  We are working with Emily and she's great!  She was awesome to talk too and she totally understood the vibe we wanted for our wedding ceremony/reception.  :)

    Third for Toast and Jam!  We're working with Dustin and so far couldn't be happier.  Love that he gets the vibe we want, and will definitely keep to our do not play list.

    I had Carrie from Toast and Jam at my December wedding and I couldn't have been happier with her.  The best compliment I got about our DJ was a friend of mine who has never danced in public in her whole life telling me she danced all night at my wedding.  Carrie was that good!
