What venue are you using?:  Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet
Biggest challenge so far?:  It was vid at first, but now its finalizing the honeymoon accommodations!  such a hard life
Favorite vendor!:  my photographer, jiho!
Least appealing planning aspect:  building up the money in the savings account, and having to write checks swindle it back down
Do you have a theme/color?:  cocoa & gold with scarlet accents
Any reason why you chose your specific date?:  its our anniversary, my parents and his parents anniversary weekend
Something weirdly odd about yourself:  i don't like my food touching each other on the plate.  everything must be separated.

Least appealing planning aspect: Getting all the names and addresses together and organized.. Also thinking about the day of timeline stresses me out!
Do you have a theme/color?: Vintage black and ivory chandelier theme.. with light pink accents
Any reason why you chose your specific date?: It worked well with my FI work schedule lol
Something weirdly odd about yourself: Ill second LIB and say I hate when my food touches eachother!  Glad I'm not the only one! And... lets see.. Im a complete control freak about the wedding.. but I think others could say the same

Any reason why you chose your specific date?: The FI chose it because it is close to our anniversary
Something weirdly odd about yourself: I also hate when my food touches and having to explain to people why its ok to put stuff on a burger (which touches) but not my salad and chicken.

Least appealing planning aspect: the length of our engagement...I just want to be married already!
Do you have a theme/color?: Navy, Apple green, hints of silver and pale pink are the colors. Our look is classic, preppy, clean.
Any reason why you chose your specific date?: warm weather, everything was available!
Something weirdly odd about yourself: I can make an "M" with my tongue.

Biggest challenge so far?: Dealing with FMIL- she is VERY excited and has all sorts of crazy ideas of things to implement (baby pictures on nametags for the RD, colored paper towels in the bathroom)
Favorite vendor!: None so far that stick out in my mind but the new banquet manager at Cantigny seems to be awesome
Least appealing planning aspect: Fighting over the guest list
Do you have a theme/color?: Crimson with cream and gold
Any reason why you chose your specific date?: Jews aren't supposed to get married on Saturdays until an hour after sunset and I always wanted to get married outside. FI wanted to wait until he took the bar to get married and I wanted it on a holiday weekend since most of our guests are OOT and I hate Sunday night weddings on non-holiday weekends. So its the first Sunday holiday weekend after he takes the bar in July.
Something weirdly odd about yourself: Ugh, what isn't weird about me? Adding to LIBs food weird thing, I won't mix my food while eating it either. Like if my plate has salad, mashed potatoes and pasta on it, I will eat all the salad and then all the mashed potatoes and then all the pasta. FI thinks I am crazy.  I also apparently dress like an "Amish lady from Vermont" according to my coworker. I don't know where he got that from but apparently it means frumpy. I also use my parking brake all the time. If there is a slight incline, I use it. FI makes fun of me for that too. I don't know I just don't want my car rolling around.

MLRB, I use my park break all the time too!! I was told it helps prolong the life of your brakes -- not sure how true that is.

Any reason why you chose your specific date?:  Suprisingly, no after much discussion on dates we decided on one that did not really have any significance
Something weirdly odd about yourself: I work at the reception venue and it is nice but I will have a hard time telling myself not to think about work the night of the wedding. Saved us a TON of money though!

As a warning be careful using the parking break. In the car my dad, sister, and I share we used the parking break all the time and now we can't use it unless we are on a hill because it hurts our brakes (our car is older though, so that could be it).

Biggest challenge so far?: Living in another state than my wedding! We recently moved to Wisconsin. My fiance received a job transfer in May. We travel back to the Chicagoland area every few weeks to take care of a ton of wedding stuf and then we are exhausted when we get back
Favorite vendor!: So far reception. The girl we are working with is AMAZING. I am so excited!
Least appealing planning aspect: Fighting about the guest list and who gets to come and who doesn't (based on FMIL's requests)
Do you have a theme/color?: Black with red accents
Any reason why you chose your specific date?: I know I wanted to get married in June and it was the day that was available. I chose June because of the song from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (my favorite musical!)
Something weirdly odd about yourself: Hmmm...I pretty much have all of my wedding stuff taken care of. I'm hyper organized. My invitations are stuffed and stamped, my favors are done, and my escort cards are as done as they can be without having RSVPs. I'm kind of kooky.

Biggest challenge so far?:  Trying to do only one or two things at a time.  I keep trying to do everything at once and then I get overwhelmed.
Favorite vendor!:  Schaumburg Florist & The Meridian  (it's a tie!)
Least appealing planning aspect:  I was the least interested in flowers but the Florist at Schaumburg Florist made it fun and gave me and my mom so many other ideas.
Do you have a theme/color?:  purple
Any reason why you chose your specific date?:  So, FI's out of town family didn't have to take time off from work to come to the wedding and to give them time to drive in.
Something weirdly odd about yourself:  I like peanut butter on a hot dog.   My dad gave it to my sister and I when we were growing up.  My FI and my mom get grossed out by it.  I always tell them don't knock it until you try it! Obviously, my mom was not home when my dad gave it to us.  Surpringly enough, I almost always eat my hot dogs plain otherwise.

Any reason why you chose your specific date?:  September is my favorite month and I am hoping in September there is less of chance of being super hot for our outdoor ceremony (I hate being hot!)
Something weirdly odd about yourself:  I LOVE Cholula hot sauce, I put it on nearly everything!

How big is the bridal party?: 9 bridesmaids, 9 groomsman, a jr groomsman, 2 ring bearers and 2 ushers.  And yes, it totally bugs me when people get all judgey about our large bridal party!  I could not imagine not having each of these people by our sides :-)  And our wedding is going to be huge, so at least it's proportional!
What venue are you using?: River East Art Center
Biggest challenge so far?: The guest list...the only thing my mom and I have fought over!
Favorite vendor!: After my tasting, it's now a tie between my photog, Tony @ Life On Prints, and Blue Plate Catering.  Both SO amazing!
Least appealing planning aspect: Again, the guest list. We aren't having kids other than nieces and nephews, and it's been tough on some people.  My mom thought I was NUTS at first, but it's being held in an art gallery....it's really not a kid friendly place!
Do you have a theme/color?: Big City Chic!  The gallery has super tall ceilings, tons of exposed brick, and when it gets dark - you can see the glitter of the city lights!  I love it! Our colors are Fuschia & Taupe... I was inspired by a palette on Martha Stewart Weddings.
Any reason why you chose your specific date ?: Nope, totally was handed the date due to the availability of our church & reception venue!  It is pretty cool that it's a number pattern too! 7-9-11
Something weirdly odd about yourself:  I am obsessed with tv shows about people having weird obsessions/addictions/problems.....Hoarders, Intervention, you name it.  I do not whatsoever have an addictive personality.  I don't get it.

What venue are you using?: The Genesee Theatre in Waukegan 
Biggest challenge so far?: Saving money!! Ugh we both are working two jobs and we are broke all the time!
Favorite vendor!: The theatre's wedding coordinator is amazing and has been so nice about everything. 
Least appealing planning aspect: Realizing how expensive everything is and constantly trying to find the cheapest route! I wish I had an endless supply of money!
Do you have a theme/color?: We are keeping with the theatre theme: instead of table numbers the tables are genres (tragedy, comedy, greek, history, etc.) and the centerpieces are a stack of plays from the genre with a square vase with roses in it on top of them. Our colors are red, gold, and black.
Any reason why you chose your specific date?: Not really, I think it seemed like a good enough time to save money! 
Something weirdly odd about yourself: I have never had arm pit hair! It just never grew... one less thing I have to worry about in the shower!

Favorite vendor!: We're really early in our planning, so I'll have to go with the only one we have, which is the venue itself . . . it is so beautiful with hardwood, stained glass and exposed brick! 

Least appealing planning aspect: Coordinating everything and everyone

Do you have a theme/color?: Autumn-y, probably brown, red, orange, and some yellow.

Any reason why you chose your specific date?: We wanted a fall wedding. . . that is about it. We were going to do the 8th, but that is marathon weekend and we were having trouble finding hotels.

Favorite vendor!: I love them all, but Roisin at Seven Bridges is a life saver. I annoy with her things every week and she is amazing to deal with. My florist is amazing too, I gave her a picture of what I wanted and she hit it on the head!
Least appealing planning aspect: Trying to organize all guests, address's, numbers etc.
Do you have a theme/color?: Our colors are pink, and black damask. Everything is being accented with damask. It is beautiful!

Biggest challenge so far?: we are living in the OC until March so planning a wedding far from home has been difficult plus money keeps adding up.  Also I just want to be married already, I like instant gratification.

Favorite vendor!: I would have to say our Photobooth vendor right now...I do photobooths.  We are really looking forward to this.

Least appealing planning aspect:  that my parents are paying for a lot and my dad has kind of turned into a dadzilla.  I had to finally start putting my foot down and being more vocal with my expectations.

Do you have a theme/color?: Black bridemaid dresses but robin egg blue accents.  Lots of tiffany and Co things going on

Any reason why you chose your specific date?: Nope, It's usually hard to get into the church less than two years out but they had a date available a year and a few months out so we booked it, plus my cousin is a deacon at the church so we are really looking forward to having him marry us.

We got married in MPLS, so we went with Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Windows on MN.
Biggest challenge so far?: I took on a LOT of DIY stuff, maybe too much... Aside from that, it was living 2 states away from where the wedding will be, while he lived way too far away in Ohio. It meant I had to do a lot on my own (maybe because I went a bit control freak?? LOL), which was kind of a bummer. I didn't get to do a lot with my BMs before the wedding aside from showers and the bach party.
Favorite vendor!:
From Chicago, I used Ink Spot for printing our invites, the Left Bank for accessories, and James Ciccotti for shoes. Of the 3, I think I have to give MAD props to Ink Spot, because they are fast, efficient, and really great to work with!!

We began dating on the 4th of July 5 years before, so initially it was for that reason, and then we also realized that it was his parents' wedding anniversary as well!

Not sure if its all that odd, but my favorite food is potatoes. If I could eat some form of potato (and I do like them all, but hash browns are probably my fave) at every meal, I probably would!

The amount of research I've put in to every single vendor we're using...it makes wedding planning feel like a chore!

Soft/romantic...the colors are shades of pink and pewter

Any reason why you chose your specific date?:
FI is a huge hockey fan (Hawks), college football/basketball fan (Illinois) and baseball fan (White Sox) and didn't want our wedding to conflict with a potentially big/playoff game (yes, I realize this is insane), so we picked August because it was "safe" and then the 20th was the only day our venue had left.  FI's job also came into play a bit, because he can't take much time off from September-April so we wanted to be able to have time to go on a honeymoon.

Something weirdly odd about yourself:
I feel off balance sitting on the right side of a room because I'm right handed...I can't really explain it and I know it's really bizarre.

Biggest challenge so far?: Keeping my stress level down and not going out of control with my budget
Favorite vendor!: Its a toss up between florist (Kio Kreations) DJ (Okyne Media Lab) and Photograher (Michael Belec)
Least appealing planning aspect: Dress shoping!!! I love to shop but shopping for a wedding dress was much more stressful than shopping for a new pair of boots!!!
Do you have a theme/color?: BM are wearing silver and all of my accents are hot pink and lime green. My favorite color is pink but I just couldn't see my girls in pink dresses so I went for the nest best thing and I am loving it!!!
Any reason why you chose your specific date?: I have a close co-worker getting married in April so I wanted to make sure that there was enough time between her wedding and mine. Also it is a holiday weekend so out OOT guests will be able to spend a little extra time here. Lastly, we wanted out photographer so we had to pick a date that he wasn't already booked!
Something weirdly odd about yourself: I am a hair stylist but I hate to get up in the morning and do my own hair. I would rather do someone else hair than my own.

I totally feel the same way with my 27!!! It gets so annoying  when people make comments but I couldn't imagine it any other way. These are the people that were here for us when we needed it the most and my day wouldn't be the same if they were watching me from afar rather than right by my side!!!

Biggest challenge so far?: I'm a BIG planner but my day is far away so I'm trying to not jump the gun on too much stuff. But we live in Central IL so I don't want to procrastinate since we have to travel up to finalize plans. Gotta find that happy medium lol

Any reason why you chose your specific date?: I'm a teacher and FI will be teaching by the time we're married so we wanted to do it over Xmas break so that we can have time before/after the wedding.
Something weirdly odd about yourself: I guess I really am odd..most people keep talking about their food NOT touching. I am a chronic mixer. I'll put veggies, meat, and pasta all in one pot. Which sounds good to me, but my roommate cringes when I put peas in with my marinara and chicken or green beans and sausage with my mac and cheese. I figure it's all going to the same place anyways..plus...mixing=less pots

Hmmm, I guess deciding on a budget.  And sticking with it!

Not sure...maybe picking out flowers.

I'm thinking coral and blue or coral and green.

Any reason why you chose your specific date?:
I needed a summer date, because I'm a teacher.  Other than that, nope!

Something weirdly odd about yourself:
The first thing I do when I get home is look behind my shower curtain.  ALWAYS.  I guess I'm afraid that someone will be hiding behind it.

Any reason why you chose your specific date?: I knew I could  probably get some good discounts because it was in the winter month.
