Budget Flowers in the City of Chicago

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on how I can have nice flowers in Chicago for my wedding without breaking my budget.

Back in Ohio where I am from we have vendors that teach you how to make your own bouquets, centerpieces, and boutonnieres and then they store them for you until a few hours before you wedding.

Has anyone heard of anything like that? Or have any ideas of other affordable options of inexpensive florists?

Thanks so much!

Ashley

  • It really depends on what kind of flowers you want and if you want a lot of flowers or not. My florist is Mary from Flowers by COLOR Chicago. She has a website so you can check her out.  http://flowersbycolorchicago.com/

  • Hi there!

I did my flowers for myself at my wedding to keep the budget lower, but it ended up costing me a lot of worry the day of the wedding (and before). They did turn out wonderful, and I did have a great time putting everything together, but if I had to do it again, I would definitely hire a florist or someone that you trust to do your flowers. It's difficult to transport and ensure they're still alive by time you walk down the aisle =) What's your budget, and what types of flowers are you looking to use?

<div>I used Mary for my wedding and loved everything she did. She is independent so there's no markup that some florists have for having a store, etc. She also did one of my friend's wedding before mine, and did a fantastic job.</div>

  • We plan to use Amy @ Unique Floral in Montgomery, Il.  She's been amazing to work with.  Very qualified. Let me know if you need her contact info. T
  • We're using Vale of Enna. Grace is very talented, easy to work with, and kind. She really understood my vision and style for our wedding right away and has some amazing and creative floral design ideas. Her prices are also reasonable in comparison to the other florists that I looked into and she helped me to design beautiful arrangements within my budget. I would definitely recommend checking her out! http://www.valeofenna.com/

  • joo6758  - I am looking to spend around $500 - $1,000 for everything. I am very flexible with flower type. I really do like having a lot of greens as well because I think it looks clean and fresh. The only wedding color that I have is yellow and the girls and guys are wearing black. I am keeping it very simple so that I can be more open to options when it comes to flowers. I am going to have 13 - 15 tables, 6 bridemaids, 6 groomsmen, and need about 10 additional boutonnieres.

telepjm  - Yes I would love it.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hello:

Sorry for not responding earlier.  I have not checked the board this week as often and work was busy.  I responded with a PM.

    Thanks,
