Covered Affairs (anyone experience problems?)

Anyone have issues with covered affairs?

My venue normally has the linen company at the taste testing (2 months prior to wedding) to make picking linens easy on the bride.  However, after I went through the sample book at my venue's open house- I found a fabric that was perfect and I didn't want them to sell out of it for my wedding.  My venue gave me the contact info and I made an appointment with covered affairs.

They guy said he wished more brides planned ahead like me (this was way back in Feb).  He was so professional at my consultation and had a lot of advice.  I told him I wasn't interested in chair covers (too matchy matchy) but he included them on the contract anyways and told me I could always remove them.

2 weeks after our meeting he emailed me the contract and told me the deposit was 50%, since I don't want to pay $600 deposit on chair covers I will never use- I politely asked him to send me a revised contract and I will send him a check right away.

Now he is "too busy" to do my wedding.  My venue suspected he is mad that I went with another company for the covers- but I didn't.  I wrote him an email back explaining I would be happy to sign a contract that stipulated I used only him for my linens if this was his concern, but no response.

I am about to look for another linen company, but I would love to use this company cuz I heard his work is great (no wrinkles!!!!) and I LOVE the color choices.

Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience.  TIA
