It's been slow, so I have a question!

So my MOH is throwing me a surprise Bach Party.  FI had the good sense to tell me, because I am not into surprises.  I would have died if she showed up on a radom saturday when I'm tending to my urban balcony garden, all dirty and sweaty.

Has this happened to anyone else?  I am so happy and greatful she is doing this fo rme.  She is wonderful.  That said, I am not into surprises, and I want to be able to get dolled up and plan what I'm wearing!

I'm glad i know the date, but I have no idea what to expect, or wear, or anything.

I would hate being surprised like that. Can you imagine showing up after the gym or something? Ugh.

my MOH wants mine to be a surprise but it's just too hard to have that party as a surprise! maybe drop hints about what you would like to do for your bachelorette party.

Agreed - I think a surprise is thoughtful but would much prefer to know the date so you can plan accordingly on what to wear. Since you don't know the details of the evening, there will definitly still be some surprises in store for you - but I would be much more comfortable knowing what kind of event I am going to!

I know how you feel! I had a surprise engagement party and we figured out what weekend it was but we THOUGHT it was Sunday...so we planned our outfits for Sunday...well get got back to our place Sat. after lunch and BOOM! party. And it's not like I was going to go change then lol. Looking back it didn't matter what I was wearing, the party was perfect (even if my outfit wasn't)....so I guess what I'm saying it I know where you're coming from for sure but don't sweat it! Just wear whatever and it'll be great!

We were actually invited to a wedding that day, so she was forced to tell me SOMETHING!  I know what day it is, and she played it off like she was planning a day for my bday (it's 2 days before).  So it should be fun!

I'm surprised (lol) how common surprise b-parties and showers seem to be on these boards!  Both of mine were planned dates...although maybe that's just b/c everyone knows I'm a calender/organized freak, lol.

I'm sure it will be fun! Good thing you got a heads up though!

Mine was a surprise but my DH was in on it and knew to take me to a nice restaurant or at least make me think I was going to a nice restaurant so I was able to get dressed up. This was my MOH's idea not his, although I would love to give him credit for something like that, he just doesn't think the same way us ladies do!

I found out my work is giving me a "surprise" shower in a couple of weeks. I'm so glad my coworker/friend told me about it. Funny thing is, I have a class that night and won't be able to stay long. I think it's a really sweet gesture, but surprises sometimes don't work out as expected for anyone.
