Wedding in 1 Week: MUA JUST canceled...

So, I hired a separate MUA for the BMs b/c I wanted someone who was budget-friendly; they are already traveling to Chicago, paying for hotel, etc. and I get an email last night from this person saying "please email me your phone number asap". I emailed her back with my phone number and nothing. No call back. I emailed her back to see if anything was wrong with our contract, and she told me no.

Today, she calls me and says that she cannot do the MU or my 8 BM's that she has been hired by another company and needs to travel out of town for 10 days. While I get it, I'm still annoyed. I don't want to have to deal with his one week out.

Does anyone have any rec's for at-home beauty that's reasonable? Need rec's ASAP.

Also, for the record, I'm using Sonia Roselli or MY makeup and a couple of others that wanted to use her. I'm NOT referring to Sonia or her company, this is someone NOT affiliated. I cannot WAIT To work with Sonia on the wedding day!

BTW, that's absolutely ridic! Vendors can get away with murder and the clients are stuck holding the bag. Unbelievable.

I'm going through Melissa out of Czar Salon and Spa in Naperville but both her and the MUA are coming to my hotel in the city. Her MUA rates are $65 pp. Her email is melissaczarsalonspa@gmail.com. Melissa is the hair stylist but she coordinates all of the wedding stuff that they do. Mention my name because we're good friends, it may help you

Bummer! ditto to what Sparkette said about vendors! As a last resort your girls can go to Ulta and get their MU done for little to nothing at the Benefit bar there (you just have to purchase a product or tip the girl). I know you want someone at-home though.....

What that MUA did is not acceptable, and I think you should name her in your reviews. I get that someone gets a new job but what about her commitment to you??? and I'm sure you paid a deposit. NOT COOL, not good customer service.

I agree with the above poster. It would be helpful to all of us to know who was this unprofessional so the rest of us don't end up dealing with someone who was this careless about their brides.
