Engagement Party Thank Yous?

Hi Ladies!

So my MOH threw us a surprise engagement party. I've never been to an engagement party before so I'm just wondering...do the bride/groom usually send thank you cards? I'm not sure on the etiquette but figured you'd all know!

Did people bring you gifts? You send Thank You's to those people, and to the host(s), but you do not need to send thank you's to guests just for attending the party.

ditto PP.  My sister and MOH threw us a surprise engagement party as well, but no gifts.  and, we did not send thank yous.  If you got gifts, it's always good etiquette to send a thank you note.

Please send notes to those who sent gifts, and to the hosts. My sister threw me a party (not surprise), I sent her a note. My other siser made a gorgeous and delicious cake and her husband provided primo champaign, I wrote them a note.
My brother and sister in law made a signature frame and I wrote them a note.
