Wrigley Field Photos - $$$

Just a heads-up to any other Cubbie fan couples (who are on a budget)... if you'd like to have your photos taken at Wrigley Field, start saving!

We were interested in having a few pictures taken inside the stadium with our engagement photographer.  I've seen many online albums with this type of picture, and being lifelong Cubs fans, I loved the idea!  We called the Cubs last week to inquire, as directed on their website.

To enter the stadium with access to the lower seating level, on-deck circle and dugout ONLY, the fee is $250.  You cannot walk on the field or access the bleachers, upper deck, etc.  Knowing that amount was out of our budget, I thoughy maybe we could just try pictures on the corner of Clark & Addison with a message on the marquee... until the agent told me that fee is $500 and the message would only remain up for 30 minutes.  If you wanted both, that's $750... exclusive of your photographer and any other costs associated with the photos.

It breaks my heart that as a couple on a one-income budget, we can't afford Wrigley pictures, but I thought I'd put the info out there for anyone else.  Considering the Wrigley charges are almost three times our photographer's fee, it just isn't posible for us right now.  We will still take pictures at Clark & Addison, though, in addition to our other chosen locations.

Yikes!

Re: Wrigley Field Photos - $$$

  • Ask your photographer if he/she can photoshop in your names and date on the marquee, I bet it can be done!!!
  • If it doesn't look fake/cheesy, that's fine with me!  Otherwise, hopefully we'll catch a really generic message for our shots, or she can just photoshop out whatever random ad pops up.  Much cheaper than $500-- that's almost $17/minute for a message.  Eeek!
  • Find a friend with a connection for friends and family days at Wrigley!  You get to go out on the field all you want, lay in the outfield, take all the pics you can, even get free balls, food, beers.  Basically any sponsor has the ins, so grocery stores, insurance companies, etc.

  • What about doing a tour and taking pics while on the tour?  It's $25/person, you get to go up to the press box; both locker rooms, dugout and homeplate (not on field though).

Otherwise, agreed; we've also done the Friends and Family day for free and got some great pics!
  • They won't allow you to bring a photographer on the tour-- that was our first thought, since we've been on the tour before.  Ugh!

I don't think we know anyone with Friends & Family connections (if we did, I'm sure we would have taken advantage of it by now), but if anyone here would like to point me in the direction of your "in", I'll take it!  I work on the Southside, so all my connections are Sox related, unfortunately.  :-p
