Renting a Venue

My friend is getting married and is on an extreme budget. Has anyone found a nice place to rent (hall, restaurant, space) that isn't too expensive and will allow you to bring in catering? I think we're sticking to south/southwest/western burbs.

I started researching but haven't had much luck yet.

I suggest becoming a bit more open to your desired location. I have venues in the city and north side of chicago. What would an ideal location be?
