Glen Ellyn Venues: Input

I'm looking to get married in Glen Ellyn and I want to keep the venue close to the church (without being in the church "basement").

Any opinions on Crowne Plaza, Abbington, or Seville (not in Glen Ellyn but had a bridemaid have her wedding there)????!!!

Hi!  I am getting married in Naperville, reception in Wheaton, so hopefully my input is helpful.

I have been to a wedding at the Abbington.  The service was nice and the food was pretty good.  There was another wedding going on in the room next door (we were in the room that lies further South...without the windows), so we ran into the other wedding party/guests in the lobby area and rest room.

I've never been to the Crowne Plaza, but I really dislike the location right on Roosevelt.  On the flipside, the attached restaurant is supposed to be very good (Glen Prairie, I think it's called?), but I'm not sure if they actually have any affiliation with the CP or its' banquet space.

    No experience with the Seville.

Also in the area without being right in Glen Ellyn are Danada House, Arrowhead Golf Club, and Cantigny in Wheaton, the Lisle/Naperville Hilton, the Carlisle in Lombard (but our DJ recently told us that he has had awful experiences with the staff there)...many places to look that are not in Glen Ellyn but close and easily accessible.

When is your wedding?  There is a former Holiday Inn that is being turned into a Marriott, slated to open in Spring of 2012, in Naperville, near the intersection of Naperville Road and Diehl.

The Seville is great price, good food and I have been there for a few weddings and referred my cousin there and she chose it for her Nov 2012 wedding. If you are looking at the Seville you should also look at Chandlers in Schaumburg, its 5 mins away from Seville. You would be the only wedding, they will completely work with you on inclusions and price. The food is good and with it being on a golf course you will get fantastic pics!!!

The Seville is a nice location. You can also check out Drury Lane Oakbrook. They have really nice receptions there.

I don't know price point that you are looking for but here are a couple of suggestions.  Bloomingdale golf club, Ventui's, Indian Lakes Resort, Medinah Shriners are all great places to check out.  My 2012 wedding is at Ventui's.  Seville is great for the price.  I did not want my wedding their only because we had all of our high school functions there.  Oh ya one more place is Meridian banquests they offer a lot too.  hope this helps.

I had my wedding at the Abbington and it was amazing! Everyone keeps talking about how beautiful it was, how good the food was etc. The staff there is also very helpful. I highly recommend it!

I don't like the looks of the Crowne Plaza on Roosevelt either.  I've heard good things about the Abbington.  I've been to two weddings at Danada House and loved both of them.
