Paying back with a DJ recommendation to help future couples out there. For over a year I frequented this board for wedding planning and vendor suggestions. This board was a wealth of knowledge.
After securing our wedding date with our church and reception hall, our challenge was to find a DJ that handled his business like a true professional and a DJ with club experience that is able to seamlessly mix various genres of music that included pop, dance, disco, house, bachata, salsa , merengue, nortena, and cumbia. Our wedding being the most important day of our life and after having invested so much money into this event, this job could not be placed in the hands of just anyone.
After completing our research, we selected Digital Extasy (David Olivares). David was a down to earth guy. Willing to sit down and discuss his services without the pushy sales pitch. His company uses top of the line sound and lighting equipment. He has experienced in leading a team of venders on the wedding day. He takes the time to get to know the wedding couple and sets the expectation for the night in advance. David was very timely in returning phone calls and replying to emails. David has experience reading the dance floor and lets the music speak for itself. There were no over the top cheesy announcements. Last of all, David knows how to package a quality sound system with the use of lights and proper song selection to keep people on the dance floor!
At the end of the day, we simply provided David with the list of songs for the night's events. We also provided a do not play list and instead of providing a list of must play songs, we simply gave him a list of genres we wanted played. We wanted to give David a chance to stretch musically and demonstrate his creativity. After all, if we wanted a juke box, we would have simply played an IPOD. David came through on wedding day and exceeded our expectations. His sound system sounded amazing (clear and crisp). The up-lighting was placed at the right locations to compliment the venue. Song selection and mixing was best in class. The dance floor was packed the entire night. At the end of our event, our guests were energized and did not want to go home. The after party continued at the hotel with over 60 people in one of the rooms. He was a great asset to our wedding day team.
