Tell Me About Sonia Roselli Please!?

I seem to remember hearing lots of good things about Sonia Roselli Esthetique for makeup.  Can any of you tell me about your experiences working with her? I wouldn't be using Sonia, but another one of her artists, for makeup and POSSIBLY hair.  Were they worth the money?

I am just curious because I read that they are doing a special for their "next generation" (new) artists.  I am doing a Friday night reception only (eloping beforehand) and the quote that came back sounded a little high.

Does anyone know what I should expect to pay for makeup and hair services in the city?  Should I just bite the bullet and spend the money?  I'm so confused!  It seems like so much money for just a few hours!

i've done a brush class there and one of Sonia's artists is doing my makeup for the wedding. it is expensive, but i justified it with the whole "once in a lifetime" excuse ;-) anyways, her studio is so cute, everyone is so nice and it was so highly recommended when i was researching vendors - i went in for a brush class and was really impressed - that's when i "bit the bullet" and booked one of her artists.

my hair stylist it less expensive - so i figure it evens out a little in the end.

I have not met Sonia yet, but we're constantly in touch (email, Facebook, etc.) and she is soooo sweet! As PP mentioned, their services are expensive, however it IS a once in a lifetime - and everyone that I've met through TK has absolutely loved her.

They aren't pushy either, which is nice.

    Good Luck!

I am using Kim Nather, she has done many of my friends weddings and has done my makeup when I was a bridesmaid. I really like her. She is $120 for trial and day of and includes everything (airbrush if you want, lashes, etc). My bridesmaids that want their makeup done is $45. www.beautybybrush.com

My hair is a little more expensive (Mario Tricoci) $145 for the day of and then $145 again for the trial, but I am using extensions and stuff that she needs to cut. I feel like I am splurging a bit on the hair. I am having another hair stylist do my bridesmaids (who want their hair done) though for $50.

Oh and I am in the city. I just couldn't justify the cost of Sonia (especially when I have had my makeup done by Kim and it is great!), but I have heard AWESOME things about her. HTH!

I had Sonia do my makeup for my wedding and she was worth the money!  My trial was great and I never looked better....I got lots of compliments on the makeup and having it airbrushed I didn't feel like I had tons of makeup caked on me.

I don't usually wear makeup and when I had gone to a makeup counter to get a session done I always felt like Janeane Garafolo's character in the Truth about Cats and Dogs...a clown or a drag queen.

My rationale was similar to the others...it's your once in a lifetime shot which will be captured on film, video and you want to look like a better version of your everyday self.  I believe Sonia was able to achieve that.

If Sonia is too expensive, ask other Bees for their MUA and look at pictures. Good luck!

Livia Caporale and Andie Cumber did the hair and make-up for myself and all my bridesmaids.  Everyone was BEAUTIFUL.  These are lovely ladies and do EXCELLENT work!  Both of them both use to work for Sonia, however brached out after she got her store front.  You will see several Knotie reviews for Livi and Andie!

Sonia did my makeup for my engagement and Jen is doing my wedding. I loved my trials and everything about Sonia and her team is so great. I couldn't believe how many great reviews they got but its all true. I was urged not to spend the money by my family but they loved it as well and it is once in a lifetime. Especially with the amount of $ spend on photography I wanted to look my best.

I used Sonia for my wedding makeup and Livia for hair and I'd highly, highly recommend both.  Pics in bio.  Let me know if you have any questions!

I love her.  She's soo incredibly sweet and she does great work.  She did my makeup for my engagement pictures and I got a lot of compliments.  I am excited to be using her for our wedding.  She is expensive, but there is a reason for it.  I have had other people do makeup for me for events (Tricoci, MAC, a few random salons for other people's weddings), and I wasn't happy with the results.  I could have saved money and just done it myself.  I'm sure her other girls, who are cheaper, will do a great job too.  Good luck hun!

I think she has a good reputation and does nice work as you can always see in peoples pictures. I think you have to justify it and think if you have the money. Agree with the above poster, why spend money on photography if you are not even going to look your best, for one day in your life? She is good for asian makeup and did the asian workshop too.
