December Wedding in Chicago

Hey everyone,

I'm on the hunt for ideas on where to have a small wedding in Chicago this December. We have a small guest list of about 60 people, at most. I'd prefer to have the ceremony and reception at the same spot. I'm open to restaurants, small hotels, any place that offers a cozy atmosphere for our guests to mingle and enjoy the evening. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    I don't know about having the ceremony in the same place, but, a friend of mine had her small (~16 ppl) reception at the wine cellar of the Chicago Firehouse Restaurant. I've seen pictures and it looked lovely. The restaurant has more areas for private parties you could check on their website. The Signature Room on the 95th floor of the Hancock Tower is also very elegante.

    Great ideas! Thank you! I love the idea of the Firehouse. I've been there and it's fantastic. I will check out the Sig Room, too. The views would be fantastic on a winter night:)

    Hi! I heard the Cultural Center is wonderful for a small ceremony.

    I am wondering if you need any wedding photoraphers.  I am in my Senior year as a Photography student at kendall college of art and design and am looking on expanding my portfolio before I graduate.

    I wouldn't charge you anything, I just really would love to capture your wedding shots or if you need an enagement session as well. Let me know what you think!

    I attended a winter wedding at A New Leaf.  It's very cozy.  We just loved it.  I also like the Catalyst Ranch.  It's funky & colorful.

    Thanks! I've heard good things about A New Leaf. Bummer they don't allow bands. Did the wedding you attend have a good DJ?

    Check out Prairie Avenue Gallery, its a house that a Lady named Marcy rents out, you can bring your own caterer.

    I'm having my wedding at the Catalyst Ranch this New Year's Eve!  They have rooms for groups as small as 50!

    we are also getting married in december and have 70 people on the guest list. we are having both the ceremony and reception at the embassy suites in deerfield, because the atrium looks like a rainforest, basically, so we will have an outdoorsy feel, even though it will be inside
