soloists

Hi,

Is anyone having a soloist?  If so, are you hiring someone, are you having one of your friends sing or is someone in your bridal party singing?  If you are hiring someone, which company are you using?

Thanks.

My friend sang at our wedding as a gift to me.  Our church also lets you chose one of their soloists if you wanted to use them at no additional cost.....Also, if you are interested in my friend who sang at my wedding, PM me..i can give you his name and you can look him up on you tube.

Check out Robin Vitson from Elegant Ensembles, we loved her!

When we were looking around for ceremony musicans we were at a wedding that had a friend as the soloist. Truthfully, she wasn't very good (she was a little flat) and the quartet did the best job they could with her. Personally, unless your friend is a really good singer, I would hire a professional or use the regulars that the church uses over using a friend.

my sister's best friend is a pheonomenal singer and she offered to sing at my wedding. i know i will be much happier with her singing than one of the soloists at my church.  i have been to many wedding where the soloist was just a volunteer at the church and not a trained singer. that would be something to consider asking if you decide to use someone at the church.

I agree about the church soloists.  They are not trained.  My friend is a trained professional.  He is sooooooooo good.  It was one of the best decisions I ever made...it is worth it to persoanlize your ceremony..
