Traditional vs Airbrush Makeup

As a follow-up on the previous question about make-up recommendations, which would you recommend: traditional or airbrush? I know Alison Feamster does both... which one did you opt for and why? Is one better for a particular skin-type or coverage?

I did the airbrush, with Alison. It was definitely worth the extra $$$ for me. If you tend to sweat a lot (me) or just want some extra staying power, it's definitely worth it. We had an outdoor ceremony in 88 degree weather and I felt gross, but I was stunned when I still looked nice in the pictures. Didn't look greasy at all. Some girls don't like it because they feel like it's "too much," but I just told her to make it as natural as possible and was very happy with the results.

I tend to have the occasional break-out at the most inconvient times so I opted for air brush.  I had Alison do my make up for my b-pics and yes the makeup felt 'heavy' but she did the make up at 10 am and when the photos were taken at 10 pm the makeup still looked great.  I'd say if you dont break out and have more even skin tone opt for non airbrush.  If you want coverage to stay all night long and don't mind the heavier feel do airbrush. You may also be able to do a 'half and half' trial, half airbrush half regular to see which holds up better and which you like more.

I used Alison Feamster and opted for airbrush. Unlike pp I didn't think it felt heavy at all. I'm not a big makeup wearer and have had my makeup done for weddings before using the traditional method. I felt like I was totally made up and wearing too much makeup. With the airbrush I barely felt like I was wearing maekup at all. The photos looked amazing and it lasted all day!

Thanks for your feedback! It really helps to hear from actual people rather than generic website advice. Alison did say we could talk more about it before the trial but I wanted to hear about your personal experiences.

I also used alison for airbrush!  I have very oily skin and broke out a lot!  not so much now but before the wedding my skin was crazy!  I did get to my skin to semi clear up the day of...i used proactive masks and even got a facial..but she did amazing it was well worth the money spent!  it held up all day and throughout the day it didnt look oily and I barely had to touch up!  I to dont wear makeup often! GL let us know what you decide! either way you go itll look great~!
