Married, For Sale, Reviews, TLC, etc.

Hey ladies,

It's been four months since my wedding and I finally got around to finishing all of our reviews and everything. I took a little wedding hiatus! We were on an episode of Four Weddings on TLC (which made me really need a break). It aired on August 26th and was titled "And a Rockin Harmonica." I wasn't allowed to talk about anything which is why I didn't say anything sooner! I have items for sale, pictures, information about our wedding, and a Four Weddings clip on our site so please check it out! I live in the Northwest Suburbs and would like to get some of this stuff out of my guest bedroom.

No, I forgot to mention we lost! It was a super close episode though, we were only 4 points behind the winner. There is a clip on my site that shows our wedding segment of the episode, but Four Weddings is not easy to get online. You can buy it on iTunes and TLC has reruns all the time, but that has been our only advice to our friends and family.

Ok so I totally just watched the whole thing...is it hard to hear the reviews from the other girls?

Some of them I understood, like I know we couldn't afford to have a lot of food options and we had a huge stage with only 70 people. The party atmosphere just wasn't going to happen, and that's not my style anyway. The other girls had small dance floors with 200 people, it makes a huge difference. The parts I didn't like is that the girl who didn't like my dress had a VERY simple dress, more than mine and they all looked so excited through most of it that I was surprised to only get 6's.

EEP! I saw your episode! I DVR'd it and made my DH watch it, too. We LOVED your theme and your venue.  It looks like you had a beautiful day without overspending! Congrats!

It looked absolutely gorgeous! I love all of your little details and how the ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner progressed sort of like how a live performance would. You looked so pretty, and I'll have to stalk TLC to see when the episode is replayed.

This is exactly why I couldn't do it. Hearing people pick apart your wedding can't be fun.

I definitely agree.  From your website, it looks like things were gorgeous!!

Aw thanks girls, you're definitely nicer! Lol I do have to say if you watch the whole episode, I think I am the nicest one on there. Like I said on the site though, I knew it was a competition and people are going to get mean. I also have the advantage of knowing what it's like going in those interviews and being asked to talk about the other weddings. I got together with my wedding party to watch the show and we just had fun yelling at the girls on TV and seeing all of us!

AHhh!!! I saw your show! I thought everything looked great, and I think that was one of the closest scores I've ever seen on that show. Yes, I watch it almost weekly. My FI actually went to high school with another girl from the same episode.  They're not friends, but he said he knew some people at her wedding. The Navy Pier one? I don't remember her name.

So weird seeing one of the girls from the show on here! Congratulations to you, and yes, I agree, you were very nice to the other 3 girls =)

@Klynn, I always wondered if the show gives you a stipend to buy dresses to wear to all the other weddings?

I watched your episode as well and I remember telling my husband how much I loved your venue and having your dinner on the stage was brilliant. I do not understand how the person that won could talk about your dress being plain when her's was SO simple.

I had a buffet as well and I get so frustrated when the brides put down buffets.  I know my buffet was pricier than the per person plate because of the options.

I also work in the building that the winner had her wedding in so it seemed odd to me that the cocktail hour was in chairs I hang out at while I am drinking my Starbucks!

    Congratulations on your wedding!

<div>Nope! I really struggled because I was in the midst of paying for my wedding and they told me I would need all these dresses! I got them like one at a time. But, now I'm prepared for any event!</div><div>
</div><div>@Kellym I agree with everything! That is funny that you work in that building, it is nice.</div>

I have to admit I liked your wedding the most.  It might be because I'm also doing a theater wedding but mostly because I thought your wedding was what I look for on that show.  Most of the weddings seem so bland after watching the show so much and yours wasn't.  Well I guess no one every said the world was fair... Good job though! :D
