VERY sad today :(

Well, it's official...my coworker is being deployed to Afghanistan the last week of December. I've only worked with him for a little over two months, but...he's just a really really great guy. Makes me laugh constantly. I've never had someone so close to me actually be deployed.

He was hoping that he wouldn't pass all of the tests to go, but as of yesterday he did; so sad. I know they sign up for it, again, it's just hitting close to him.

    Sorry...this is sad news. But hopefully his deployment will be short and he will come home. FI's friend was deployed right out of college and it was very stressful on his girlfriend, but he came home and is fine :)

    It's tough when a person close to you is deployed. At least he gets to spend the holidays with his family...I'm trying for the silver lining. =)

    I hope he is stationed away from the action and is assigned a safe, mundane mission.

    yeah that is why i wouldn't sign up. i wouldn't want to make those close to me sad. i am sorry you are sad and i hope he makes it hope safely.
