POLL: Funniest/Strangest Wedding Gift

Since hubby and I returned from our HM, we were finally able to open our cards and gifts. One particular guest of mine is my second-cousin and is a Catholic priest. Hard-core Catholic - if you're divorced, he won't serve you communion and says you're going to hell, he believes Harry Potter is the devil - you get my point, very extreme! On that note, we really aren't close...he kinda creeps me out.

So, we see a bag and open the card inside, and it's from my cousin, the priest. Inside are two books and CD. The first book is "Till Death Do Us Part" with a cover a picture of Jesus on the cover and another one, but I forget the name of it. The CD is entitled "Contraception: Why NOT To Use It". That just made us laugh our you know what's off!

Just thought I'd share mine, and ask you if you had any funny/strange gifts?

LOL that reminded me of my friend's family - they are SUPER Catholic.  At their rehearsal dinner, they requested we read the sheet that was on our plates.  I was a bridesmaid for a previous wedding at the same Church so I ignored it.  It basically requested (plus put in bold letters in her wedding program) that if you have not gone to Church every Sunday, to not go up for Communion.  I heard this after the fact and actually did...oh well.

Anyways...I guess the strangest thing we got was a contraption thing that holds nachos for the grill.  It's the first time I've seen anything like it.  I just thought it was odd.

My strangest still gives me nightmares. A painting of a clown whose eyes follow you wherever you go. Thankfully the relative visits only occasionally and we only need to hang it during their visits!

OMG!!! That's definitely nightmare-worthy!!! I'm happy that they're only occasional visitors, so you have the ability to hide it! :)

I've got a good one! The day after our wedding we sat down to open our gifts and cards. I pulled on out of our card box and I made a comment about how the card feels like it's loaded with rocks...It might as well have been b/c of the random-ness.

DH cousin gave us a nice card, but inside was a variety of gift cards that didn't make any sense. We received the following:
    $10 to Cold Stone Creamery
    $15 to Starbucks
    $25 to Ruby Tuesdays
    $25 to Cheesecake Factory (yea!)
    $25 to Macaroni Grill

We like most of those places, but it was just a random hodge podge of GCs.

Kthame, that is hilarious! A friend of mine received a book on NFP and raising a Catholic family from some Catholic relatives.

Sparkette, I am cracking up imagining these people driving to all of those stores to buy $10 gift cards. Or maybe it was off the rack at Jewel, which is equally awkward to buy a wedding present at the grocery store.

No weird gifts yet, but I am very curious, especially after some of FI's friends have been asking "what's a registry?"

Jess - OMG - that's too funny. I don't like it when people push things down your throat! In particular, religion. Jeesh!
