REASONABLE make-up artist?

I live in the northwest subs and I am loking for a make-up atrist that is reasonably priced. All the quotes that I have been getting are like 200. Maybe I am cheap but that is too much. Any suggestions?

You don't say where in the NW suburbs, and you don't specify whether you are looking to go to a salon or have a make up artist come to your home.

That said, my daughter went to Avalon Spa in Deer Park.  She had a pre-trial and day of service (at the salon) for $80.  Amanda did an amazing job.  In making calls prior to booking that appointment, we found out that many MU artists at places like MAC have private "boards" in the shops, where you can hire them for off site jobs.  Each artist sets their own rates.  Their rates were obviously higher to work off site, but it was not $200.  You might want to call a few shops like MAC, ULTA, or Sephora and see if they offer such services. 

If I remember correctly, MAC would do make up at the shop as well.  The "appointment" itself was free, but you were obliged to purchase a certain amount of product.  At least in that respect, you would have something "tangible" for the cost.  I'm pretty sure that was NOT $200 either. I think Sephora operates in the same manner.  FWIW, the reason we chose Avalon over MAC was timing; MAC did not open as early as Avalon, and my daughter needed an appointment earlier than the typical shop opening of 10 AM.

I used Tamara Makeup and Hair. She was really reasonable and also does reasonable airbrush. I loved, loved the way my makeup looked. I would highly recommend her and her team!
