Bakery advice..... Take the Cake or Sarah's Candies and Pastries

Hi there,

Our catering package at our venue includes the cake and we can choose between Take the Cake or Sarah's Candies and Pastries.  We have some tastings coming up but I was wondering if any of you have worked with either of them and have any input.  Thanks!

Take the Cake.... HANDS DOWN. Mary is amazing. She was so great during our tasting. FI and I our not the most adventurour eaters. I really thought we were going to get a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. But Mary walked us throught 15+ types of cake and 20+ types of frosting and helped us pair them together. We ended up with a hazelnut cake with chocolate and praline filling. It was amazing. She doesnt rush you and she lets you try as much as you want until you are completely sure.

She was also with helpful with our cake design. She explained up charges. I guess it costs more to have a square cake. Since shape didnt matter to us, she lets us know about the up charge and we went with a round cake. She was very honest.

I really dont think you can go wrong with her. Although her bakery is a little hard to find. But totally worth it.
