Dj recommendations.

Hi knoties

I would like to know who you booked or had at your wedding, which DJ was the best and also did you do any lighting?

My daughter is having Kristen from Toast and Jam-----we are very excited about her!

For lighting, they went with a company called Elegant Event Lighting out of Schaumburg.  They have been very flexible, and take care of backdrops as well.

We are using Answer Back Entertainment. They have a great setup, and offer a ton of lighting, including uplights. Tim is the DJ and we seen him at a friends wedding. He did a great job keeping people dancing. I think a few others here have used them as well. Their website is www.abdjs.com Hope this helps.

We're still interviewing lighting providers but I expect that we're probably going to go with Frost

For DJ's we chose to go with DJ-Chicago. We met with Rachel from Toast and Jam and were less than impressed...maybe she was having a bad day when we met her but she had zero personality which I found a bit discouraging considering we were interviewing for a wedding DJ. It felt like she had somewhere else to be and could have cared less that we were there. She also told us that she would have a recap of our meeting to us by the end of the weekend (we met on a Friday afternoon) and didn't receive the info until 3 weeks later.

Back to DJ-Chicago...Mark was great when we met with him. He offered great suggestions after listening to what we wanted our wedding to be all about. He followed through on everything he said that he would and has just been easy to work with.

    Good luck!

We are using Don from XL-Entertainment.  Next to the location, the DJ was the most important decision for us.  He totally got us and understood the kind of party we want to throw.  I expect the dance floor to be packed all night!

I know, when we went to their studio, they had comments from brides in a book, they might have them on their website. I know they have some on dexknows.com I searched for the link:

I am looking into a company called Style Matters and Bizar Entertainment. Their prices are totally across the board.  What is everyone's take on lights?  It seems really cheesy to me to have colored lighting ~ am I old fashion?!  What is the appeal?

If your asking about uplighting then I dont think its cheesy at all. It can change the room and add great color. Obviously it wont be different colors , it will be same color as your wedding colors. I am going for purple uplighting since my colors are purple. However, if you are talking about the light show dj use while playing music , I find it fun and its a wedding so it should feel like a party.

We used Speedy B entertainment, they travel throughout the chicagoland suburbs. Our DJ was so GREAT and so affordable compared to other DJ's I talked to.
He was so accomodating to all of our requests and gave us some really great ideas for the day.
The owners name was Mark (our DJ) and he is so nice.  His website is www.djspeedyb.com and his number is 708-522-5479.
I highly recommend.  He made our reception something special and again didn't charge us a fortune to do so.
    Good Luck!  :)
    Future Mrs....
