DIY Candy Buffet - where to hire equipment?

Hi there,

I'm new here and have been lurking the forums over the past few months, but now with just over 3 months to go, I thought I would reach out for some help!

My fiance and I are interested in creating our own Candy Buffet for our guests as part of their favor. I've googled a few places to buy the candy (in our theme colour), however I am having troubles trying to find a place to hire apothecary jars and candy dishes. I don't particularly want to buy them as they seem quite expensive and I don't want to have to bring them back to Australia with me.

Has anyone created their own DIY candy buffet? If you could recommend a place where I could hire a range of jars/dishes, or any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

  • Try Pacific Event Group.  They tend to do higher end rentals and have some novelty items like this.  I've seen them do some inspiration shoots on SMP with all sorts of random decor.

You can also try florists -- maybe some interesting vases would do?  Also, if you have a coordinator, ask him/her.  They usually have contacts for this as well.

  • We bought all of our stuff for our candy buffet.  I found some stuff on sale and the other stuff at the Goodwill.  The Goodwill has a ton of this stuff for usually cheaper than you can rent. They is one on Maui near the airport.  If you don't want to bring the stuff back home with you, you can just donate it back to the Goodwill.
  • I agree with Tanq, our florist had all kinds of items you could rent through her including apothocary jars.  Definitely check the rental place and with your florist!!

  • we rented everything through our WC along with vases, candles, frames, gift basket etc. which saved us a ton in shipping costs and didn't have to worry about it after.
