Hotel Accomodations for Guests if your wedding is not at a hotel?

Good afternoon!

I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out a dilemna.

I am having my wedding outdoors at a ranch and I'd like to get a block of rooms or special pricing for guests who are flying to Oahu for my wedding.

Did anyone contact a hotel(s) to get a special price?  Can you share what hotel you gals are going with?

I am recommending VRBO to some people but others want to stay at a hotel.

Thank you and happy Monday!

Yep, we did block room rates at the Outrigger Reef. It's a GORGEOUS hotel and we got a really good deal. GL!

We booked Hotel Renew for our guests. It's very reasonably priced, and they have excellent customer service. There are limited ocean view rooms, though, if that's important for your guests.

I don't have a specific hotel to recommend, but we did hold a block at one of the hotels near our property.  We also booked the next morning's brunch to be there as well to make things a little more convenient.  Just pick up the phone and ask for group sales -- some hotels will require a minimum committment, others will not.  Keep calling until you get a rate and a package that works for you!

Our guests are staying at various different hotels in the area depending on what they could afford. Even with a block at one of the nicer hotels it still made more sense for them to book where they did. My parents and FI's dad are staying at the Maui Coast Hotel which is much more affordable but still really nice. We're staying at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort for the first leg of the trip.

Thanks girls! I'll definitely start on that. I've got a little less than a year and feel like I am completely ahead with the planning. I've booked my venue, photographer, and bartender. Hmmm what else?

Yeah, there's always a crazy rush upfront for the key vendors, and then a lull until around the 4 or 6 month mark where you're just doing the interim stuff like the dress & bridal party, and then a rush again in the last few months to nail down details.

Other things I worried about at the beginning:
    - Videographer (highly critical to me)
    - Caterer
    - Dress (well, I didn't, but I don't recommend delaying too much)
    - Guest accommodations & group flight discounts
    - Plans for Save the Dates (which go out 6-9 months ahead)
    - Website (so it's ready when STDs go out)

Thanks Tanq! Very helpful. I guess I should start on STD's....

The caterer hasn't responded to my email (it's been a month). I figure he's been busy since it is wedding season. I think I'll touch base with him end of the month.
