Checks, and Vendor RAVES! :)

Hello ladies, I've been mostly a lurker for my very long engagement, but thanks to all of your great advice, I've been booking early and I'm on a roll! I'm happily booked with Alison Feamster, Lotz Studios, soon-to-be with Anita Kline; booked bpics with Ericka Reid/IQ Foto, Ana Titus as DOC, and most recently booked with Flowers on springtree lane! All of the above vendors are fab.u.lous, but I want to especially recommend FSL... they gave me floral centerpieces at a price I didn't think possible, and easily stayed in my budget! I'm thrilled right now that we get the flowers of our dreams after all! Now all I need is a DJ...sigh... I'm LOST on that one.

We went with Justin Markle of Platinum Music DJs.  It was $800 for the entire night.  We had researched quite a few djs and Platinum had some of the most reasonable prices. (As if you can call $800 reasonable!)  A Solid Gold Sound had the best price at $595 for 4 hours, but once we added an extra hour or two it wasn't much cheaper.Good luck and thanks for the Springtree Lane tip!

I'm using Matt Capsel from Center Stage Productions.  He has a great variety in his DJ background and is VERY personable.  His wife works with him as a 'coordinator' so that everyone is where they need to be for their specific dances.  He is also very open to any music that you like.  Our wedding is going to have more 80's rock than anything and he is extremely excited about that!  Anyways, I booked him when he was running a special so I have him for $495 for 5 hours and it will only be $50 per extra hour if we need it.  Just search for Center Stage Productions and you'll find the site!  Subscribe to his newsletter and you'll see his specials!  Good luck!

Highly recommend Chris Snodgrass of Capitol City Sound. They did a fabulous job at our wedding!

Justin from Platinum Music did our daughter's wedding and he was great! Kept the dance floor packed all night and was reasonable for the amount of time he was at the reception.

OSU -- you're using a lot of the same vendors as me! :) For a DJ, I definitely recommend Capitol City Sounds. They are AWESOME to work with and so professional. Our DJ will be Chris Leas, one of the owners (I think Chris Snodgrass is the other, and they're BILs).

**Alko... who all are you using? :) I knew we had a few in common... when's your date? Sorry if I'm behind, I'm on and off the boards sometimes.

I'm using Alison, Anita, I've used Ericka, and Flowers on Springtree... I've also been in touch with Ana for a little while too. :) We're getting married over Memorial Day weekend, so I tried to book everything early on. Are you still getting married June 12th? I had a friend getting married that weekend, but she ended up having to change her date because of her venue! GL with all the planning, looks like we'll be side by side on the timing! :D

Alko, sounds like we'll be buddies! :) Yes, I'm still June 12th. I booked our venue in Febuary out of paranoia, but even then one of our top picks was already taken for our date, a year and a half in advance! sheesh. I'm going to the bridal expo Aug. 23rd to try to find deals on a dj, and maybe a photobooth...

Unless you want to be completely brushed off, get poor customer service and have your wedding reception ruined, KEEP AS FAR AWAY FROM HIM AS POSSIBLE!!!  We didn't use him as a DJ (Thank God!), but we DID use his photobooth service and it was a complete disaster!  First of all, let me say that you get what you pay for, he's cheap and so is the service!  He promised us TWO people to man the booth for our 200 guest reception, then days before the wedding said, no, it would just be him.  When my hostesses got there, he wasn't there, he had sent a friend to cover for him because he was "busy" and she told us that she had NO CLUE how to run the booth and she hoped she did okay because she was just helping him out!  She wasn't at the booth half of the time.  We were using our album as a guest book, she ruined the book, didn't get half the copies of our guest's pics because she wasn't paying attention, nor did she have them sign the album.  When I called him the next day to complain, he said he would refund me $300 and give us re-prints of all the pictures by the end of the week.  Two weeks later, we hadn't heard from him, I called and called, he never returned my calls. After multiple e-mails, he replied that he had been "busy"and would take care of it.  A MONTH later, he still hadn't responded to calls or e-mails.  It was only after I threatened him with a BREECH OF CONTRACT LAW SUIT that he FINALLY refunded me the $300 he promised and we have yet to ever see our pictures and he STILL won't return my calls or e-mails.  He's a bad business man, full of excuses and promises he won't deliver on, he's unprofessional and will make your life miserable.  We used MattRyan as our DJ and I can't say enough wonderful things about them!!!!!  But based on my experience with Matt Capsel, I am determined to make sure that another bride doesn't have to deal with that hateful man!

bopanee I ask Matt about your wedding. He said it was a bad wedding for his company. He also showed me all 265 text messages you sent him in one night starting at midnight.

Thanks for the warning about his past work. My personal thought is that your very short of a whole deck of cards. If someone contacted me like you did I just would had the cops come to your door with restraining order.

Good luck to your husband he is going to need it!!
