bridesmaids shoes

K8888's posts about dyeable shoes got me thinking.

What shoes are your BM's wearing? are you requiring them to buy a certain shoe, or a certain type of shoe?

I am trying to be anti-bridezilla in this department and just telling them to wear black pumps. As long as they don't try to wear strappy sandals or anything, I really don't care. I hope it ends up looking OK.....

Re: bridesmaids shoes

  • They can wear whatever they want as long as it is silver that was my only request.

  • Whatever shoes they want, they all have different dresses and I really just don't care, haha. All of them have great style and I trust them to wear what looks good. I know I'm probably in the minority here though...

  • My girls' dresses are black.  I was originally just going to have them wear black strappy sandals to make everything affordable and easy.

But I REALLY want bright fuschia shoes.... I think they'll really pop in the pictures.....

I'll have to see how expensive it would be to dye them... I'll spring for the dye anyway.

I'm allowed to have ONE bridezilla demand, no?

  • My BM dresses are long so they can wear whatever they want. Any style or color is fine with me because you won't be able to see them anyway!

  • So my colors are royal blue and Orange and my BM dresses are royal blue.   SO I originally told my girls they could wear any silver shoes they wanted and then they collectively decided they wanted to wear orange shoes.. FIne by me.. SO I found a pair of orange shoes I was going to buy for them all and then my sister said they are ugly and not what she had in mind.  SO end of story... BM Are now wearing any orange shoes they want and they are purchasing them themselves.

  • I told my BMs that they could wear any nude or gold-colored shoe they wanted - sandal, strappy sandal, stiletto, pump, whatever. I just want them to be nude or gold.

Most already have nude shoes so it's NBD. Their dress was expensive so I wanted to make sure they weren't required to buy anything else.

I would have loved to have done this.... but they <em>wanted </em>me to pick one dress!

  • I am glad I am not the only one being so unspecific/casual about BM shoes....I know all of them (except fo the scientist FSIL who doesn't even own a pair of heels) already have black pumps in their closet and have good taste, so it should be just fine!

K8888 fuschia shoes + black dress would be adorable! I wonder if you could find some at like a Target or a Payless for super cheap....for what is essentially a one-time use shoe, it might not be a bad idea to just find something super cheap for them!

My girls are wearing black dresses with fuchsia sashes and we had their shoes dyed fuchsia. They are these ones...

I haven't seen them yet, but my sister said they turned out amazing. They requested a short heel, and my bridesmaid that tried them on said if I wasn't having them wear them for the wedding she was buying a pair for herself because they were so comfy.

  • my girls are wearing these in fuschia:

I told them they could pick whatever shoe, but they all agreed that they wanted matching shoes, so my sister picked these with the other girls' approvals.

  • I told the girls any nude color heel or sandal...nude color is totally in right now, so should be easy for them to find or use a pair they already own. This is one thing I really don't care about!

<div>Yeah I got really weird responses when I told them. My sister and my MOH we're nonchalant like, "ok, whatever.". And my FSILs were like, "What do you mean? You're not even going to tell us the designer and color name? Where should I get it?"</div><div>
</div><div>I pinned SO MANY dresses so they could understand what I meant, I think they like the idea now, but it took them a while to warm up to it. </div>

  • I told them all silver sandals and a short-ish heal.  I'm so unpicky about this stuff.  I wanted them to all just pick whatever dresses as well in one color but they all wanted a specific dress.

  • I told my BM the could get any style they wanted I would just like them to be silver.  I have long dress so I don't really think you are going to be able to see them any way.

I also wanted all my BMs to have different dresses but all be the same color.  When we went looking they all keep liking the same dress so we ended up doing the same dress for everyone.

  • I told them to just pick whatever silver shoes they wantes. I did this because my sister (MOH) is a shoeaholic and I didn't want my other BM's to be uncomfortable matching her ridiculousness. (she actually chose her Jr. Prom outfit around the shoes!) Oddly, now both BM's have their shoes but my sister does not, she's too picky.

  • I told my girls any nude colored shoe! The will all be wearing the same navy dress (they all liked it), but I wanted them to get a heel that they were comfortable wearing and they would wear again :) Our colors are Navy, Yellow and White!
  • black fashion sandals of their choice.
    pregnancy calendar
  • I let my girls pick the style of their dress so I wanted to have similar shoes to kind of keep things conforming.  We're having an outdoor ceremony so I bought them all white Ralph Lauren wedges from Piperlime.  I'm going to wrap and ship them to the girls w/ a notecards saying "fabulous friends deserve fabulous shoes"  I hope they like them!

  • I LOOOVEEE my BMs shoes- they were only $6 and everybody immediately agreed on this one:

  • Any silver shoe...doesn't matter the style as long as it's silver & they love them!
  • Pick what you want was my directions.  I let her pick her own dress, so she can pick the shoes to go with it.  I did say that since it's outdoors and the sidewalk is stone and the ceremony is on grass, I'd not recommend stilettos.  Other than that, have at it.

I let my MOH pick her own shoes but she ended up letting me pick them. Her dress is tea length and I am a flip flop fanatic (my shoes and FG shoes are flip flops too). The color is one of our wedding colors and matches the color of her dress.
