What would you do? (chairs)

My ceremony venue has these white plastic chairs that I'm not too fond of.  At first I was thinking about renting nicer chairs (chivari, maybe), but now I'm thinking it might not be worth the cost.  Would guests even notice the chairs?  Are they not that bad looking?  What would you guys do?  TIA!picture: http://tiffanyandnate.amodophoto.com/tiffanynate.jpg

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about the ceremony chairs. We also used white plastic ones for our ceremony (although they were different, they looked like those wooden folding chairs).

I also wouldnt worry to much about it, we are using plastic chairs as well however I am puting a big orange sash on them to decorate them a little with out to much expense.

I don't think the guests will really notice. Plus it's only for the ceremony, so people won't be sitting for that long. Plus they looked great in the photos you referenced.

I think those are fine... not a big enough difference to the wooden ones, and I think tying the sash around all the chairs is a way cheaper option than chivari chairs.  Plus people are only sitting in them for a short time.

No one really notices chairs.  Obviously, if you put them side by side, then you can tell one is better than the other.  However, no one ever really notices.  No one will be like "why didn't they use chivari chairs?"  As long as the chairs are clean and in good condition, then I think it's fine :)

thanks!  that's the confirmation i needed...fi will be happy i'm not "wasting" money on chairs.  dressing up the chairs with a sash is a great idea...thanks!

have you considered a cheaper alternative than chivari chairs?  What about these? I *mostly* agree with the other girls, especially because of the price, but I think it's totally up to you.  If it were me, I would not use those chairs.  Just my opinion. But the sash idea, especially on the inner part of the chair (I would do not around the entire back of the chair, but around those inner thingies), is good one!

I love chivari chairs, but it's definitely not worth the cost because guests will only be sitting on them for 20-30 minutes.  Most guests won't even notice.  I think every ceremony I've been to had the plastic folding chairs.  If you really want chivari chairs, they are a better investment for the reception or if you have your ceremony & reception at the same place, you can move them.  :-)

Great advice offered... For us the sash and chair cover was nearly as much as a chivari chair rental (at The Kahala) so we went with the chivari chairs and I loved the look.  Going back perhaps we could have saved the money though, it's completely up to you :)
