Waikiki Aquarium

I'm still on the search for a reception venue.. anyone used the Waikiki Aquarium before? I've seen parties there (from the outside) and I love the location. The only thing I'm worried about is that they say you can't set up until 515! Our ceremony is at 4pm and we were hoping to have the reception at 6. I just don't think 45 minutes will be enough to set up all the tables and tents and everything.

I agree that 45 minutes sounds a bit short on time but I do love the moon jelly fish there lol  Good luck!

There's really no way I can see how you can set up everything in 45 minutes unless you hire an army of people. Can you push back the ceremony to at least 5pm and reception to 7pm (it would be a lot better if ceremony was at 6pm and reception was at 8pm)? If so, have the cocktail reception in separate area so the dinner reception area will have extra time for final touches (and your caterer has extra time for food prep You def need a good wedding coordinator to pull it all together at this location. Good luck!

we looked at the site, but we decided to go to the North Shore since that is where our guests wanted to stay.   Definitely cant do tent in 45 minutes, but maybe that can be set-up earlier.   Our WC had a ceremony package for Waikiki Aquarium so she may have more info www.hawaiiweddingsandevent.com

yeah that's what i was thinking! At our venue, there's only 2, 4, and 6pm time slots for the ceremony. If we do 6, the reception site will be set up, but we'll have to break it all down around 930pm, making for a VERY short reception!!! like 2 1/2 hrs I'm guessing :( So I don't think it's going to work. Oh well!

i was looking into the aquarium for our ceremony + reception, too.  olivia in the office is really helpful, she said (and the manager rayna verified) that you can start setting up tables and chairs at 4:30 pm at the earliest.  if you book the tent through the aquarium, i think they can set it up that morning.  good luck!
