Hawaii Wedding Budget Question

Ok so I am currently in Iraq and will be back on Oahu in November. I am going to start planning my summer 2010 wedding at that point and I was wondering if a budget of $10,000 (not including rings/attire) is a reasonable one for the Hawaii area. I am from a small town in California where that would be more than enough for a large event but Hawaii is a bit more expensive. Thanks for any advice!

I think you can do it. My budget is 15,000 and thats including my at home reception in Kansas im throwing. It all depends on how you want to spend your money, and how much DIY things you want to do, you can save some money doing things yourself. Also, beaches are cheap to get married on, i think you just need the permit. How many people are you going to have? I guess it depends on that to. There is a nice budgeter on theknot.com that helped me lay everything out, so you can see how much it would approx. cost. Hope this helps!

Ours is 8000 for everything but the Welcome Dinner, the ring, and the accommodations. We're doing a beach wedding - not renting an estate. It depends on how spendy you decide to go with the food and venue, I think.

I think that's totally doable.  It really depends on where you want to hold your wedding and how many guests you're having.  The number of guests is the main driving factor behind the budget.  Also the location is important.  If you want to hold your ceremony at a hotel, you might be paying several thousand for the location fee, but if you hold it at the beach, then you just have to get a permit.  Good luck with planning!

Definitely doable.  Though it depends on # guests.. how many do you expect?

It's definitely do-able, but the number of your guest list will effect what that also. We spent around $9000-10,000 (that included our airfare and hotel stay), but we did budget a lot. We only had 20 guests and we took our guests to a luau instead of having a traditional reception. I have a budget breakdown in my bio (not totally updated, but you get the gist: http://nejireta.googlepages.com/budget).

Defnitely doable! We ended up spending around 10,000-11,000 (not including our travel or attire) and did everything that we wanted to.....it was great!
