Labor Day Weekend?

Hey girls, how was your labor day weekend?  My parents were in town visiting, so we did some nice things like take a boat ride down Marina Del Rey.  I kept hearing the same conversation around me twice though, usually right after each other (and without awareness that the first convo happened!) - in Korean and then in English, cuz DH doesn't know Korean.I also ocean swam in cleaner (yay!) though rougher waters at Marina Del Rey - it was a challenge and fun and sort of scary at the same time.  I had only swam in the Long Beach bay before this (the Tri I am doing is the Long Beach Triathlon - 1 1/2 weeks ago - eek!) - and it's calm but pretty gross.  The last time I went there I saw a shoe floating in the water.  The water is way murkier too.Though the Marina Del Rey water - since it was a bit clearer under water - I was swimming and all of the sudden I was reminded of a scene from the Harry Potter 4 movie - where there are 3-4 kids tied down and floating as if dead at the bottom of the lake.  The color of the water was similar and I could see blurry seaweed too, it all looked sort of similar - I totally got creeped out for no reason!  It's not like I was going to see a dead body under there.Oh, and we ate dinner at the restaurant my brother works at, so my parents could see - and I saw 3 celebrities in the course of 5 minutes!  As soon as we walked in, Monica Lewinsky walked in right after us!  I just stared for a moment trying to figure out why she looked so familiar.  She asked my dad if we were waiting for the hostess. Then Chris Pine from Star Trek walked in, and he ended up sitting next to my mom around 3 feet away (on her booth-type long bench) the whole dinner.  We also saw some guy from Sat Night Live walk in, idk his name. The next day DH and I saw the LA Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, in a suit jacket and jeans at Target on Sunday night.  We see celebrities pretty often living in LA, usually I try to act like it's no big deal... but it's fun!  I saw Giada de Laurentis (food network) at the Whole Foods near DH's work with her adorable baby and her husband.  DH saw Robert Downey Jr. one time when we were starting our hike - but I had been turning the wrong way and missed that one!Sorry to babble, hope to hear how everyone is doing!  Irish, Sophia, Foxy - your weddings are coming up so soon!  And SkyyBc too, right?

That sounds like an awesome weekend! I wish I saw more celebrities. We walked around Toronto on Monday and saw the airshow going on overhead - the Blue Angels (I think that's the US group of planes) were there... and flying low enough that I could read the writing on their wings. That freaked me out a TON.

Sounds like a fun weekend! My dad is in LOVE with Giada, but anyways seeing celebrities is soooo much fun! I had a pretty good weekend, we went to Seattle and went to this really fun park on Lake Union called gasworks park which is an old natural gas factory thingy and they have closed it down but left all the big equipment that you can climb on and stuff, pretty rad! Other than that we are on the home quest trying to find a home, so frustrating. We put in an offer on a home but it is a short sale so it is taking a really really long time and so frustrating! So we are hopeful but who knows! Ok hope everyone else had a good weekend too!

Sounds like a great weekend Jen!  I wish I could say the same for my Labor Day weekend... wasn't bad but I had to work 15 hours on Saturday.  Had a nice little get together though at a friends house and then ran 9 miles on Monday.  So it was a decent weekend.... no celebrities though.  I wish!  Highly doubt any American celebrities are going to come to my small part of Germany. I can't believe how quickly the wedding is coming up.  We finally bought our tickets to Hawaii.  There's SO much that needs to be done though so I'm starting to stress... plus work is crazy busy and - stupidly - I am taking college courses.  So yeah... it's been hectic.  Anyway... I plan on being the board more often cause I miss my Hawaii knotties and planning with you ladies... Hope you all had a wonderful weekend... this weekend is almost here already!
