Hawaii

Bah

I miss wedding planning.Don't get me wrong, I'm not super bummed (yet) - I'm too busy to be bummed! But, I miss the planning... and really, especially for us DW brides - many of us will never get the chance to have so much friends and family, who would NEVER meet under regular circumstances, in the same place. That's definitely one of the coolest things ever.

Oh, that is my biggest fear! On the days where wedding planning seems too much I can't wait for it all to be over, then on the days when it's too quiet, I anticipate feeling so lonely with out this big fun day to look forward to! You are so right, it is so different with a DW, I think I am more excited that all our family and friends are coming together in the same place :) my FI and I keep joking that we are throwing this big vacation for our two lives to come together and we just happen to show up and get married in between! Thank god for the Knot...we can still be involved in "wedding" things as long as we want :) You can just help us plan now!!!

LOL! I'm totally living vicariously through everyone at this point! And I cannot WAIT to see your party Kelsey. It's going to be amazing. It's funny - instead of taking an anniversary trip to Hawaii, we've been talking with our friends about taking a reunion trip. I'm sure you have friends & family flying in from all over the place too - it's going to be AMAZING. Most. Fun. EVER.

The reason we did the DW (aside from FI wanting to get married on a beach in the sunshine) was because I loved the idea of getting together my closes friends and family and spending quality time with them - and them with each other.  I can't wait!FI is really worried I'll be totally sad when it's all over.  He knows I'm always sad when Christmas is over, and when vacations end, and he sees this as a kind of a hybrid - Big Huge Fun Day + Kicka.ss Vacation.  So he wants to plan a little trip somewhere over a long weekend a couple months after our wedding - so we'll have something to plan and look forward to.

Great idea! I get bummed after Christmas too - so this was even more of a downer. At least Christmas comes once a year!

Ditto all of this!!!!(Before we even left Maui our guests were already asking us if we were going to plan a 5 year "destination" vow-renewal so that we could all get together like that again!)

I felt the EXACT same way after our wedding. That's why I think I was way more active on the boards post wedding than pre-wedding!! hahaha...unfortunately, now I've been too nauseous (morning sickness) to think about weddings as much but it's nice to come over here whenever I can =)
