Maui and Reception question

I live in Arizona and planning a May 2010 wedding in Maui, is anyone else planning a traditional reception with dancing? We are having the wedding at Sheraton Maui and I'm concerned that no one else is doing the whole dance floor thing. But if are guests are coming from the mainland I want the wedding to include sit down dinner and dancing but wiht the beautiful Maui ambience. Is this weird? Please help ease my fears

Yes def doing the dining and dancing. Ours is a traditional wedding, just in Maui.

It is very common for destination weddings to include dancing. We had dinner and dancing at the Seawatch.

I think I might be one of the only brides who is NOT doing the traditional thing, we are doing a Lu'au for our reception, but the brides on here are AMAZING and will help you tons through it all and all the questions! I'm from AZ too, and welcome to the board!

Yup, I'm another Maui bride having a traditional wedding with a sit down dinner (buffet style) and dancing! It's totally normal, so have no fear! Happy planning!
