Oahu Caterer - Indigo

So...we are still debating on which caterer to go with!  My FI is okay with splurging with Indigo...(even though my suggestion was to go with a cheaper caterer and get my fabric canopies from Yvonne!!)  Anyway, I wanted to know what you all thought of Indigo...for those who hired them and for those who've eaten at their restaurant in Chinatown! Was their food as good as they looked?  Were they worth it for the day of?  We tried Catering Connection and I thought their food was decent...but food is one of our top priorities, so we want to offer our guests the yummiest dinner ever without breaking the bank! TIA!!

Hi!We are using Indigo's for catering.  It is worth the splurge. There are so many little details you don't realize in presentation, setup, and travel-ability of the food.  Greg is awesome.  And they will help keep costs down if you are willing to buy your own alcohol.  We had a tasting at their restaurant and it is a fresh, asian/hawaiian fusion cuisine.Plus, they also have this awesome, yummy, wedding chocolate cake - oh my gosh - the best we ever had.Hope this helps!

I was at a wedding where Indigo was served and it was some of the best food I had in my life. I was very impressed and so grateful of such a nice meal that was provided to us.

Malia used them (myday1708) and her wedding was pretty much the gold standard for awesome weddings. I'm still drooling over her menu.

Yup, I used Indigo too and we LOVED them.  Loooooved.  We did a tasting there (our first) and thought we wouldn't be able to afford them.  But out of everyone we considered (Kahala, Willow's, Cater to Me, and some others I can't remember) Indigo had the most food (in terms of quantity and variety) than any of the others and it was the best price we were quoted.  Our menu was similar to Malia's.  Greg is hard to track down sometimes, but my DOC (KathE) followed up with him every single time to get whatever it was I needed.  He and his staff know exactly what they're doing and they are AWESOME.  They made sure that DH and I were well fed, had everything we wanted to drink, and made us each to go plates without me asking.  At the last minute (maybe a week before the wedding?) I asked Greg if he would make us fresh malasadas for dessert because we don't like cake.  They made them and they were sooooo delicious.  Huge hit.  And his staff even stuck around to say goodbye and hug us before they left for the night.I totally recommend them.HTH!Tiff

Hi ladies - I just had my wedding Aug 4, 2009 - loved every minute of it.  I got married at Loulu Palm so an outdoor venue.  I too checked out Catering Connection for food but not up to my standards (too many fried items).  I never got Indigo to call me back after several tries - gave up on them as I was worried they'd be unresponsive as well later if I did manage to book them.  I finally ended up with Big G's Catering and they were awesome, A++ satisfied, got their name from a few other recommendations of friends.  I would pick them again in a heart beat.  They had delicious food (key as my hubby & I are slight foodies living in San Francisco) and they worked in my budget - very reasonable for what we ordered (including some seafood items).  They actually use catering connection for their staff which I have to say was also awesome.  People loved the food & my friends aren't shy about telling me that kind of thing!  Big G: Grant is the owner & a complete teddy bear of a guy.  He's great to work with.  gsim99@yahoo.com / 808.218.4096 Good luck ladies!
