cheap, DIY ideas for placecard holders??

I decided to do place cards after all, I have regular folding placecards that a friend gave me, but I was wondering if anyone has any easy, cheap ideas for placecard holders??I'm coming into the last stretch and I feel very non-creative at this point.Any ideas would be appreciated :) thanks ladies!!

    I love the wheatgrass idea in your bio!  I think it looks super cute.. Not sure how much something like that runs tho... I also really like the idea of doing a moss sheet and sticking place cards in them... Here is a website I found..     Seashells work too....I knwo you can get them cheap and then you could find those mini clothespins and glue them to the seashells to hold the cards up. I know they ahve some cheap seashells at icestandard.com or maybe .org I am not sure. But it's an idea.

    yeah, i tried looking for wheatgrass blocks, but they're pricey..Maybe i'll go the moss sheet route if i can find it at michael's or ben franklin. or maybe something island themed....i dunno yet... creativity is dwindling ;)

    How about in a sandbox instead of grass?  It can be just a shallow wooden box or something filled with sand to hold the cards in place.

    are you just trying to figure out how to display all the placecards on a table so that ppl can search for their seat or are you having them individually placed at each seat? For our placecard table we had regular red folding placecards... we put a picture of ourselves... a picture of my parents wedding pictures.. and a picture of DH parents pictures on a single table next to the reception table and then just placed all the place cards around the pics in alphabetical order.... Then ppl found their placecards and took them to their individual table

    i want to do a table so people aren't walking around the tables looking for their names..oooh i am loving the idea of a sandbox! gonna have to see if that's doable...i won't be taking on any new DIY projects until we get to hawaii in TWO weeks! I'm dying to go already :)

    We had placecards taped to colored ribbon on reception table set in alphabetical order
