Hi everyone!! I'm back as a Mrs.!! WHOO HOO! I want to thank you all for you kind words that you posted for me! It really means a lot. So the week of the wedding was...you guessed it...STRESSFUL! Family and friends were flying in from the mainland and it seemed like I had a million things to do at all hours of the day. I averaged only 6 hours of sleep a night and I was starting to get really grouchy. I need 8 hours of sleep a night and I wasn't getting it. My friends helped me out so much. They kept me grounded and helped me with all my last minute stuff. About 10 days before the wedding we found out that our pastor would most likely not be able to get to our ceremony early enough to marry us due to a family members medical emergency. A few days later one of his fellow pastors from Hope Chapel agreed to fill in for him. I was super stressed when all this happened but it was beyond our control and all we cared about was our pastor being able to be with his family. We met with the catering manager of the Kaneohe Bay Officers Club a few days prior to the wedding to go over last minute details and to make our final payment. During this meeting she gave us the names of the staff who would be in charge of our reception. Come to find out the head person of our reception was a lady named Sue that my mom used to be really good friends with. You see when I was younger my mom actually worked at the Officers' Club and they became really good friends but had lost touch over the past 7 years. It was great to know that the person in charge of our reception was someone I knew...even though I had not seen her in 7 years. On Thursday everyone met up at the reception site for our rehearsal. We were all chatting and looking at the layout of our room when Sue walked in. I gave her a big hug and we chatted for a few mins. Then she told me how sorry she was to hear that my mom had passed away several years ago and that she had no idea that had happened. That's when I lost it. Seriously ladies...I was balling in front of a million people...the catering staff, all my friends, the pastor, my son and dad. I literally had to run to the bathroom to compose myself because I was breaking down. Sue came with me and we talked about my mom and how my mom would have been so proud of me. I really miss my mom and it was hard to know she wasn't physically going to be at my wedding. Ladies I never planned on getting married on the Kaneohe Bay Marine Base and having my reception at the Officers' Club...it just worked out that way. I honestly feel everything happened for a reason and that my mom was always with me!! Needless to say after I regained control of myself the rehearsal went perfect!! Our rehearsal dinner was held at my house. My dad and his friends cooked all the food. We had a perfect evening together!! Wedding Day I woke up at 6am in a panic because I heard it raining outside...it had rained all night long. I prayed to the weather gods to please let the sky be gorgeous from 12pm-6pm. I was worried all day about the weather but in Hawaii rain before or during a wedding or funeral or anything is considered a type of blessing...so all my famly and friends told me to stop worrying because the weather would clear up...by 12:30 it was gorgeous outside!! My son was so handsome that day and he helped drive the golf carts to shuttle guests. That was by fart the highlight of his day. He loved driving everyone around!! My husband, photographer and I were supposed to meet for preceremony pics...well I was 30 min late due to my hair appointment running over time. But I got there saw my husband who was OMG so handsome!! And my life changed from that moment on!! It was truly a great day!!! I could go on and on about that day but I think this is way too long already. I have some pics on FB if you all want to see. : ) Hair by Mylan of Shear Edge Salon in Kaneohe A+++ OMG!! She did a fantastic job on my hair!! I loved it so much!! Even my husband could not stop commenting on my hair. She has been doing my hair for the past 8 years and I trust her completely. Although she did go over our scheduled hair time by about 30 min which then cut into my preceremony pics but at least my hair was cute! Sunshine's Cake Creations A-- Yummy cupcakes! We ordered strawberry shortcake, strawberry guava and chocolate cupcakes with a custom design to be placed on the top of each cupcake. We had our initals on the top of the cupcakes with a red heart in between (S heart J). The S didn't really look like an S and some people thought we had 2 J's on our cupcakes but they were still pretty cute becuase the initials and red heart were placed on a larger white and shimmery heart. I loved that they were customized for our wedding!! I have only had a chance to eat a strawberry guava cupcake but it was so very YUMMY!!! The frosting is so delicious!!! Seriously I would love to eat an entire bowl of frosting!! The only major problem was that I had paid to rent a square cupcakes stand from them...well when I got to the reception...my cupcakes were placed on a round shaped cupcake stand. : ( Watanabe Floral A+ I worked with Rona and she was always pleasant to work with during the past few months. She gave me ideas of what types of flowers I could use and I think they turned out pretty good. We didn't order many flowers though. We had 5 floral arrangements for the reception, rose petals for the ceremony site, orchid heads for the reception tables, and 6 leis. Costco was selling gift cards to Watanabe Floral that cost $80.00 but was worht $100.00 when you redeemed it. I was able to save $100. K-Bay Catering/Officers' Club A- Overall I was pleased with K-Bay Catering. The catering manager usually got back to me within 24 hours when I had questions and trust me I had lots of questions for the past 5 months. The only problem I had was sometimes I would be told one thing and then later on I would be told something else ...I didn't like that. But the catering manager is so very nice!! They tried to accomodate all my requests. We didn't do a food tasting because there was a fee to do so I was hesitant about the food. However, the food was gorgeous and tasted so yummy...well the food that I actually was able to eat. The food was arranged very nicely and it was a little more fancy that I had envisioned. They did a great job setting up our reception room and the wait staff was awesome! Klipper Golf Course 16th Tee Box on Kaneohe Marine Base A+++++ We chose this site for our ceremony because of the view. It is drop dead gorgeous!! Our ceremony was on top of a tee box that overlooked the ocean!! It was the perfct place for my husband and I to get married because we both love the beach and he loves the golf course!! Originally we were only supposed to get 5 golf carts but the golf couse gave us 8 carts to hook up to one another and shuttle the guests to the ceremony site which was on the other side of the golf course. Barbara Gibson of Terra Photography A++ Barbara is such a nice person!! She was able to take all the pics that we requested. I wish she had a little more time to get more creative poses of us but she couldn't because my hair appoinment ran too long. But she did get some pics on the beach and on the rocks and on the golf course of my husband and I. She did let me see one pic she took and it almost looked like a postcard! I can't wait to see the rest!!
