Stupid question

I know in some parts of Maui, (west) has a rain belt. When do these areas usually see rain? Is it in the afternoon between 2-5 or in the am between 8-12 or something like that? Or is it very random? I'm from AZ and we have monsoon season, and generally 2pm starts and can go as late as 8pm starting June-Oct. which is why I ask this fun question.

Depends on what part of the island.  The tip of Makena has one and kaanapali is generally more rainy than the southside.

Totally not a stupid question. I don't know about time of day, to be honest. We stay in a rainbelt whenever we're in Hawaii, and it strikes me as unpredictable... but that may be just because I've never really thought about the exact time before.
